Well it looks like hindsight has decided that for us. For FY 2017 and 2018, the DPS dipped to 1.0 cents. From a previous high in excess of 30 cents, the share price is now languishing at the 20~ cents level. That's a decline of 33% - not great news for investors who bought in during the 2014-2016 period.
I wonder how the prospects are like for this company moving forward. Any inputs from the Value Buddies out here?
I extracted the historics from yahoo for price@ close + volume for the past 2 yrs.
There are 502 data pts - the starting date is 24Oct2016 with price of 28.5c, and the last date is 19Oct2018 with price of 21c.
Here are some statistics:
1. Out of 502days, only 104 days saw transactions.
2. A total of 3.08mio shares were transacted over 2yrs when total no of shares in coy is 102mio. i.e. 3% of total no shares turned over for past 2yrs.
3. The total monetary value of transactions i.e. sum of daily (volume*price) = $747k i.e. $747k worth of selling was enough to cause a 26% drop in share price over 2yrs.
I will suggest the main pblm with the share price is a lack of liquidity, lack of investor interests (which can be a pblm if u are trying to get in or out) and perhaps a couple of very panicky investors.
As an aside, that is also why one has to take technical analysis with a large pinch of salt.
