Previous commentators have shown confidence that the dividends can be maintained that 1.5 cents per share each year.

The company is facing pressures from higher administrative costs. While the government contracts are sizeable and contributed significantly to the bottom line, they are clearly one-off in nature. The business did not manage to expand in a meaningful manner around the region. They have also divested most of their property investments, so the upside from that segment is capped.

I previously wondered out loud how would the share price trend if the dividends dipped down to the FY2012 levels of 1.2 cents per share. Well it looks like hindsight has decided that for us. For FY 2017 and 2018, the DPS dipped to 1.0 cents. From a previous high in excess of 30 cents, the share price is now languishing at the 20~ cents level. That's a decline of 33% - not great news for investors who bought in during the 2014-2016 period.

I wonder how the prospects are like for this company moving forward. Any inputs from the Value Buddies out here?

I extracted the historics from yahoo for price@ close + volume for the past 2 yrs.

There are 502 data pts - the starting date is 24Oct2016 with price of 28.5c, and the last date is 19Oct2018 with price of 21c.
Here are some statistics:
1. Out of 502days, only 104 days saw transactions.
2. A total of 3.08mio shares were transacted over 2yrs when total no of shares in coy is 102mio. i.e. 3% of total no shares turned over for past 2yrs.
3. The total monetary value of transactions i.e. sum of daily (volume*price) = $747k i.e. $747k worth of selling was enough to cause a 26% drop in share price over 2yrs.

I will suggest the main pblm with the share price is a lack of liquidity, lack of investor interests (which can be a pblm if u are trying to get in or out) and perhaps a couple of very panicky investors.

As an aside, that is also why one has to take technical analysis with a large pinch of salt.

Started buying: 3rd Jan 2014.
Sold all:  8 Apr 2018.

I would love to continue holding but had decided to reduce number of counters to as minimum as possible.

Putting Noel into fighting pit with my top 3 counters,
it failed and so out it go.

Alfred is a good manager with a good heart.

2 key executives in the management team announced their departure one after another.

The Covering General Manager (Corporate Services) will serve his last day on 31 May 2019. He joined on 4 Jan 2016 and served for slightly over 3 years.

The General Manager - Group Marketing and Sales will serve his last day on 30 Jun 2019. He joined on 6 Mar 2018 and left after slightly over a year.

With these departures, their management team of 4 people is halved. Is this a cause for concern for shareholders?

Given the uncertainty in the global and local economies as a result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and geo-political tension, the Group expects to face more challenges in the coming year. As the full effect of the aforesaid situation is still uncertain, the Group will continuously monitor and take appropriate measures to mitigate any adverse impact arising. The Group would look into cost reduction measures, explore new business opportunities and up skill our staff.

Update from Noel
https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/NGI%20Ann...eID=636063

The revenue was affected by the following reasons:
1. Market condition – the market sentiment forces consumers to spend less on discretionary purchases;
2. Economic condition – impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic;
3. More new entrants to the gifting businesses; and
4. Lack of projects sales.
With reference to Page 4 of the Annual report, the Group will constantly seek opportunities for innovation and reinvention.

Stay home and stay safe, everyone.
