hello everyone, new to this forum and found this thread discussing Hotung, which happens to be on my watch-list. any thoughts about the company? from a dividend-play perspective, current price of sub S$0.15 seems pretty attractive.

Hotung got investee companies ever listed in HK and PRC markets before?

Too lazy to go look at all the past reports and announcements but

From this year's AR 2014:

"Total IPOs in Taiwan Stock Exchange and OTC market dropped from 58
listings in 2013 to 50 in 2014. While 6 companies from Hotung’s portfolio listed in 2013, only 3 companies listed in 2014."

Looks like they invest in those startups and do listing on taiwan exchanges once the business becomes big enough to get listed. So probably not so likely to have company IPO in CHina/HKSE even though there are significant number of companies from china in their portfolio.

From the BoD looks like daughter is Chairwoman and company being passed on to her by dad who is still in control of the Tai Lung Capital which is the top Hotung share holder.
