At current price, the PE is 6.2, assuming each quarter's earnings are equal to Q1 earnings. Am I being too optimistic with regards to 2017 earnings? The market seems to think so...

CIMB analyst forecasted FY2017 PE ratio of around 8 at AEM's current price.

If you take a longer time frame, with the shift towards 5G and IOT, a lot more chips will need to be tested. It will also be important to track the fortunes of Intel, AEM likely main customer, which is moving rapidly into IOT.

Vested small stake in AEM at average price of $0.69

Bought AEM at S$2.62.

Performed forward PE analysis and I found it to range between 7.737 to 2.131 (ideal). Hence, the potential share price could rise up to S$3.386 or even S$12.294 (ideal). There could also be share split to bring down the share price so that many people can afford. AEM holdings market cap is only S$154.73mm. With its latest product, and having a major customer Intel, you can compare it to UMS holdings (major customer = applied materials) which has a market cap of S$459.18mm.

Time will tell if my analysis is correct Smile

I could be wrong. But I would use simple logic to think. Would AEM holdings spend 5 years of research to gain 1 quarter or 1 year of higher returns only? Smile

Vested at AEM holdings. Previously vested at UMS holdings when it was at S$0.62. But sold at its peak. You can look at threat under UMS holdings Smile

It is high risk to vest on a single stock, moreover not a blue chip. I vested only on UMS holdings previously, and it beats blue chips. Now vest just on AEM holdings.

Do your own due diligence Smile

UMS was the stock which provided my best return to-date. I bought in the range of 50 to 53 cents and have exited completely. Smile

I have a portfolio of just over 25 stocks. Considering an investment in AEM, but just a small one for now.

Wow.. 25 stocks... you read annual reports for all 25 stocks? That is over-diversification for me. My portfolio max probably 4-5 stocks.

I only read some annual reports in detail. For those boring, predictable stocks which I'm familiar with, I just read the Chairman's statement and briefly run through the financial statements.

I bought some AEM at 2.11. My guesstimate puts the 2017 PE at 6, so with a 25% dividend payout, that should translate into a dividend yield of 4%, while waiting for capital appreciation.
