Seekingalpha website is saying :

"I arrive at a target price of S$2.60 by applying a 16 times forward P/E to my estimated FY2019 EPS of S$0.163, which implies a 29% upside to Micro-Mechanics' share price of S$2.08 as of February 8, 2018, which includes a 4.3% trailing dividend yield."

Its saying the results for year ending 2019 means sometime mid year 2020 we can expect MM's Annual Report to say, the company achieved EPS = $S0.163 ?

Good morning valuebuddies.
Hope everyone is good.

April 2018 FAQ on Competitive Advantage
Q1. Other than riding the global semiconductor sales trends, I am interested to know if MM is currently undertaking R&D or has other plans to increase its competitiveness and revenue.
Q2. Who are your closest competitors? And what is the company doing that is unique for MM to stay ahead of them?

Singapore’s Best 5 Dividend Stocks With REIT-Like Yields
Sudhan P@July 17, 2018
link

Many Singapore income investors like to invest in real estate investment trusts and business trusts
as such instruments give them a regular stream of income.
However, those trusts are usually highly leveraged.
If the economy suddenly goes south, highly-leveraged companies could get hurt.

Some stocks in the local stock market offer high dividend yields just like the trusts,
but without taking on too much debt. Therefore, they tend to be safer income stocks.
Let’s check out five of the best dividend stocks in Singapore right now.
These stocks were screened using stringent criteria to include only stocks that have:
1) Dividend yield of between 3% and 10%;
2) Dividend payout ratio of below 80%;
3) Debt-to-cash flow of below 50%;
4) Dividend growth rate of more than 3% per annum for the past three years; and
5) Profit growth rate of more than 3% for the last three years.

The first criterion was chosen because I wanted stocks with a reasonable yield at the minimum.
The second criterion gives me companies with well-covered dividends,
while the the third criterion is used to select stocks with strong balance sheets.
The dividend and profit growth rates of 3% – the fourth and fifth criteria
– were included as the average long-term inflation rate in Singapore is around 2.6%.
Dividend and profit growth rates above the average inflation rate are superb,
as that means that the dividends and profits are keeping up with inflation at the very least.

Coming in third is Micro-Mechanics (Holdings) Ltd (SGX: 5DD).
The company designs, manufactures, and markets consumables and precision tools
that are used in the semiconductor industry.
At its current share price of S$1.78, Micro-Mechanics has a dividend yield of 4.5%,
excluding special dividends. With the addition of the special dividend, Micro-Mechanics’
dividend yield goes up to 5.1%.

After hitting record height of S$2.48, Micro Mechanics had been steadily declining.

The lowest price of S$1.70 was recorded few weeks ago.

During the declining period since Jan 2018, not sure whether our value buddies are buying or selling Micro Mechanics.

With the turn recorded this week 20 July 2018, there might be more buying interest
.... leading up to result announcement in Aug 2018.

Of course, MMUS will continue to bring in the expected revenue growth.

If we are lucky (with Trump policy), MMUS will surpass Malaysia as #2 top revenue country.
MMUS profits will be keenly watched too.
Unfortunately, it's still stuck in the transformation mode.
Thou, it will increase GP and net profit for MMH, but in term of margin, likely a dragged.

Today, I read 2 articles in ST and was thinking....

1. Our ST financial editor LT in Central/Eastern Europe for her pilgrimage experience.
Great to know and its time for her to travel too.
Goh Eng Yeow, once travelled to Europe and claimed to be of huge benefits...
... only if he can do it earlier.
LT's spirit brings her to Wieliczka Salt Mine in Cracow.

Enjoy the mood:

Look at the floor... it's not Marbles.
It's hand-crafted on the salt floor.

Another interesting article on oncologist Dr Tan Min Han.
Fighting cancer using genetic.
Singapore startup.
Great!

The street lanterns in the video remind me of the huge circular glass crystal lighting fitting hanging in the front entrance lobby of the Lisboa Hotel in Macau many years ago.

Last time visit to Macau , I was at the Emperor Hotel where the entrance lobby floor was decorated with gold bars fixed under the glass floor tiles.

Yo, soros, those are not street lamp.

The entire dance floor is actual more than 100m underground.

It's a salt mine (and hence the floor is made out of salt.)

Fellow valuebuddies probably know that I had a super concentrated portfolio.

This allow me to perform daily scan on news of Micro Mechanics.

QED.

Then, one day, I thought instead of scan for last 24 hours news,
why not just scan randomly on Micro Mechanics.

Result is a particular website which I'm not sure whether you can read the site info.

In particular, it gives an excellent Introduction to Micro Mechanics business.
And the woah-la feeling on Micro Mechanics's Competitive Advantage.

I know that I had make a big mistake by sharing the same things again and again.

I couldn't help sharing this webpage because I really resonance with the writer.

Anyway, for those who wanted to learn more about what's a good business.

Thanks chialc! Surely the salt floor carving will be eroded by all the walking or this is a relatively new place? Sometimes it’s just one section that looks good.... but really looks good Smile

S, definitely very very old chamber.

There is only one way to check whether the floor is really salt.

1. Take one clean and wet tissue paper.
2. Find one corner where the floor is a bit cleaner.
3. Wipe the floor as clean as possible.
4. Lick it.

Ok, lar, I'm kidding.
If any one of you going to the salt mine, I teach you another method to check.

1. Bring along a touch light (and battery. make sure can light up).
2. Push the touch light on the floor and turn on the light.
3. If the light diffuse into the floor (like shining inside), then it's salt. Otherwise, we got cheated by the book.

I did not learn this from internet.
I went there early and joined a English speaking group.
(must check the timing as only a few session is in English, most in Polish).
The tour leader stand closer to a wall and took out her touch light.
She shine at the edge of the wall and really, the wall become illuminated.

So, I know the wall is salt.
But, she did not test the floor so, I will leave it as an exercise for you.

Don't believe me? Just watch:
