Very impressive surge in profits by 109%, to 16.87 c/share.

Numbers that particularly caught my eye were:

Revenue up 64%
Cost of sales up 34%
Admin expenses up 19%

Now that is a tightly run ship.

Only managed to add 8 lots @ 2.42 the other day. Still quite thinly traded. Hoot some more tomorrow.. Too bad boss didnt announce any interim or bonus div leh...

1H 16c means FY likely 30c+. PE of 10 means $3 PE15 means $4.50. A few more analyst coverage PE20 means $6 liao lol...

Lets see if Mr. Tng jumps in and rerates to $3++ and maybe a few more analyst jumps in. With sexy 5G growth story and such impressive results, might just become the next market darling. (lets not forget boss is research on a secret project with likely Google)

Seems to me trade war may be blocking cheaper chinese competition and Powermatic is cleaning up Big Grin

Congrats to buddies. Was contemplating to buy when they posted the review on the property. The 1H results is mindblowing.

In some way this is "leveraged" returns on current market cap, since there is about $35m cash and $33m in fair value on the property. So the current 92m means the business is valued at $24m? that on annualised $9.488m net income (just 2x of net income excluding property). Makes me wonder why the price is not moving though.

Please do your own due diligence. Any reliance on my posts is at your own risk.

No analyst coverage yet this year. For a small cap stock over here to run, that is an essential ingredient.

Possibly more action in 6 months time, when FY results out and dividend announcement is made, that would provide more results for analyst to base their target prices on. Today's volume of 471.5 lots done is much higher than the usual less than 50lots/day showing some other investors are taking note.

Thank you BK.
Sold too early at 50% profits as I do not have any clue at that time why the stock price is running.

Thank you and best wishes for all who is vested.

HY2020 results show an acceleration in revenue growth and profits for PM Data as their R&D efforts payoff.......

Very likely we are witnessing just the beginning of 5G and WIFI 6 upgrades....with millions of devices and network infrastructure to install.  New Malaysian plant will nicely add to their manufacturing capacity to meet demand............

Qualcomm latest 3Q results should give shareholders an inkling of what is coming.....(https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/06/qualcomm...-beat.html)

  • Qualcomm’s beat wraps up a fiscal year in which the company settled a legal battle with customer Apple and entered into a royalty agreement with Huawei over wireless patents and chips. Payments stemming from the settlement and agreement have contributed to its licensing business.................
  • The company estimates that 175 million to 225 million 5G handsets could ship next year.......................

Must be this contributing to the high margin? I do not think just 5G hardware production can have such high margin can it? Probably hardware sales might bring in more revenue.

Yes anyone can produce hardware using Qualcomm chipsets as long as you are licensed. However, PM Data is a niche player which is the first authorised design center in Asia which can design and produce customised solutions (both software and hardware) for Qualcomm customers ( https://www.nextinsight.net/story-archiv...ta-systems).

Their engineers are highly experienced and qualified by Qualcomm. Not forgetting the superb technical knowledge of Chairman Dr Chen Mun and ID Prof Lye Kin Mun, both with distinguished careers and PhDs in the wireless field :>

Powermatic Group's Operations in the People's Republic of China

Powermatic Data Systems Limited announced that Compex (Suzhou) Co. Ltd and Compex Wireless (Suzhou) Co. Ltd – the Group’s wholly owned subsidiaries in the People’s Republic of China (the “PRC”) have been subjected to mandatory closure, under the directive of the Suzhou local government, until 9 February 2020.

Compex (Suzhou) Co. Ltd (located in Suzhou – Jiangsu Province) houses substantially the Group production operations and research and development functions. Since the beginning of 2019, the Group has commenced establishing another production facility in Kulai, Malaysia. This facility is not fully operational as at the date of this announcement.

Based on the Group’s financial years 2019 (ending 31 March) and 2020 (6 months ending 30 September 2019), contribution from the PRC market to Group’s revenue is S$2.71 million (or 12.9 per cent) and S$ 0.95 million (or 6.7 per cent) respectively. The balance of the Group’s revenue is from Europe, USA, Asia and other regions.

As at the date of this announcement, based on publicly available information, the situation in the PRC is volatile. The spread of #2019nCoV Novel Coronavirus has gone beyond the boundaries of the Hubei Province and have infected the population in all provinces in the PRC.

In the event that the government (local, provincial or central) were to impose further restrictions, such as but not limited to extend closure of businesses or travelling restrictions on the population, the operations of Compex (Suzhou) Co. Ltd will be disrupted.

PM Data just announced an extension of release of FY results to 27 July 2020 due to COVID-19.

All factories are up and running since 11 March and a quick look at Compex Systems website (https://compex.com.sg/wifi-module/) shows they are rolling out many new WIFI 6 products which is a very good sign.

Meanwhile, its share price has rebounded strongly since hitting a low of $1.78 on 6 April to today's $2.60 which I feel is still very cheap. With approx $1 of cash and $1 of revalued property, the rest of share price of $0.6 can be attributed to its wireless business which is only valued by the market at ~$16m or P/E of 3. An unbelievable discount to its intrinsic value which should be many times more than that.

Looking forward to more news on their review of capital structure.....and of course more dividend goodies.  Big Grin

I was very much looking forward to the end May reporting. With $30m+ cash equivalent, they can easily double the annual dividends
