Hi David,

IMO, I don't see your point in giving untrue senarios and looking for advice for those situations which you are neither in or out.

We all have nick and at the end of the day, we do not know and will not know what your true identity is, unless of course you tell us.

If you intention is genuinely seeking for useful advice, I do not see why you are doing all these.

None of them are actually my true story. Although the first is probably closer to reality (at that time) the second is partly true as well as I am anticipating a divestment gain on UIS and am looking for ideas on how to allocate the funds.

Moat of the details are fake but do give a good approximation of the unique situation I am in such that the conclusions drawn will not be different.

Dear davidsim,

I am not sure who you are, but I chose to believe you on the reply.

We respected you before, and trusted the issues posted were real. VB buddies had invested their time and effort to put up best proposals, hoping that it had made a different to a better for you. FYI, the post count is 44 in your previous thread, and 28 in this thread.

The trust had been taken for granted, and be betrayed. It is unacceptable in this forum. We deserve an open apology, especially for those contributed in your threads.

We will action on the issue in due course.

davidsim, you should have said is a scenario. We still can have healthy discussion. To portray as though is personal case, is a betrayer.

It is still OK to be a quiet taker. It is NOT OK to be a destroyer or pass irresponsible and casual remarks that may destroy others. There are a few such people in this forum, fortunately not many.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for posting untrue stories to elicit useful advice.

I have benefited much from your sharing and ideas and would like to thank you all for that.

Some people may feel I don't give back but I hope everyone can remember that no advice is better than bad advice and I would rather not comment if I am not a subject matter expert.

Thanks!

Hi davidsim,

Since you are honest with us now, just curious, mind if I ask you if you had started these threads too?

Thanks.

The moderators here have been exceedingly kind to allow David to offer his side of the story, this has unfortunately not been reciprocrated with any remorse and apology for such dishonesty. Instead what they got was a 'so what' attitude from him. VB participants have also displayed maturity generally by not descending into the usual kind of name calling and one upsmanship boasting seen in other places.

Personally I advocate coming down strongly and banning/suspending such accounts upon transgressions of similar nature. No doubt some will find this a violation of free speech, but I've seen enough of forums like Money Mind, salary.sg, SGTalk, puntersgallery etc turn into garbage mills as a result of tolerating perpatrators who post either 1 liners of no substance or long narrations of fantasy riches.

Tolerating such nonsense is being disrespectful to all others who have invested substantial time and effort in reading, researching and articulating their informed views appropriately.

If this were a proper professional investment forum held physically in a convention centre and anyone really tried this stunt, i.e. go up stage and sell a cock and bull story only to turn around when caught and grin cheekily to admit it was a lie but the intentions don't change - he would be booed off stage and labeled persona non grata.

Since the trust is gone, I think no point to retain the forumer.

Let's close the case. This case may serve as a beneficial experience, depend on how you make sure of it in the future

Since all of us are just nick names, the forum works base on trust. You have just lost it. As cyclone said, there is no point to retain you. Your account will be banned.

Thanks you, just for willing to face it after been discovered, rather than just walk away. I wish those are true.

3 user bans and counting... new moderator really taking over like a storm Tongue

On a serious note, kudos for the job well-done, CityFarmer. Smile

Anyway, this should remind us to think through everything that has been discussed. As much as I like this forum that is based on trust, not all opinions are unbiased.

How do we even know if one is truly vested in the stock? A mere "(vested)" can't validate 100%.

For every advice or opinion, we should always do our own homework unless you really know the person's character.
