wahkao (I've not heard this hokkien phrase since my NS days.. Ah nostalgia),
1) There is this other thread lamenting how people play with their smartphones or ipads instead of making direct connection with another real person...
Well, if you feel the same way too, you can pick-up the phone and give your broker (who maybe dying for some human connection) a friendly call - and leave your standing instructions
2) If you prefer the cold interface of DIY computerized trading, upgrade your trading platform.
It's not really about brokers per se, but which trading platform you are using.
I would recommend you surf the websites of our local brokers for some idea. Then when you are armed with more knowledge, you can check-out the platforms of the overseas discount brokers.
To help you along, you may want to check out Philip securities' Protrader first - there are more order types than limit and market orders
3) You would quickly realise same as in the retail and restaurant business, frequent and big customers always get preferential treatment.
In the past, as a frequent business traveller, I can get upgrades by being thick-skinned. Now all I get is:
"Sir, if you want a business class upgrade, you have to pay for it."
Ouch!
P.S. By the way, this is a value investing forum. What I am saying is heresy. I am bad influence if you must know.
You might want to step back into the light.
