disclaimer: i don't really use the numbers found in the website, as i do my own spreadsheet, but it is a good place that consolidates all the info of the company u r interested in..

What do you mean by pulling out screen historically? If you're trying to test out the effectiveness of stock screening, I don't think it's possible using the Bloomberg terminal. Maybe you can try out with the filters there.

Yup, I have a brokerage account with DBS Vickers. I've just heard from a Broker that Thomson Reuters (which supplies Vickers with the data) has data available online too. If I manage to find it, I'll update here.

Eh, as for pulling out screens historically, I mean for e.g. is it possible to me to pull out all low P/B stocks for a certain year, say 2001, 2002 etc?

Hi Kazukirai,

I like to check with you whether are you able to extract figures like interest expense from the DBSVickers Thomas Reuters data? I realized that I was not able to calculate my interest coverage based on the free database provided by them.

Hi dzwm87,

Like to check on how to use the bloomberg terminal in the national library. Do I need to make a booking to do so? So far, I cant find such information from the national library website. Is it true that it is really not possible to extract the information from bloomberg terminal with usb stick anymore?

Hi mrEngineer,

Yep, there are 2 terminals in NLB - the one located at Bugis. You can just make your way to the Business library (either level 7 or 8) and make a booking at the counter. Nothing too much of a hassle.

Yes, they don't allow any information download with the USB stick. They used to just seal the usb port but have resorted to locking the entire CPU with a metal box. I think that is simply ridiculous as we can't possibly analyze any information with the allocated 1 hour time. Besides, info downloading doesn't require additional payment. It simply defeats the purpose if I want to check static information - can simply use google.

Alternatively, there are BBG terminals at the 3 local universities. How to gain access to them will be an issue.

I am using it now. It is quite useful, and save a lot of time for initial research before going further. Best it is free for POEMS users.

I got it because I'm a TA client. Maybe they are pushing it out in phases.

Anyway, it's here:

A minor correction, it is "stock summary" instead of the "Stock Analytics". There are other options beside "Stock Summary". "Stock Summary" give an overview of the stock selected.

Other options are historical chart and trade summary of the day are the few options which i used frequently
