SIA Offers 3.03% Bonds Due 2024

Singapore Airlines Limited today announces an offer of S$500,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of 3.03 per cent. bonds due 2024 to be issued pursuant to the Issuer’s S$2 billion Medium Term Bond Programme. The Offer will be made to retail investors1 (the "Public Offer") and to institutional investors and relevant persons (the "Placement").

Of the total of S$500,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of Bonds available for subscription:
(1) S$300,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of Bonds will be offered under the Public Offer at the issue price of 100 per cent. of the principal amount of the Bonds to retail investors in Singapore; and
(2) S$200,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of Bonds will be offered under the Placement at the Issue Price to institutional investors and relevant persons.

The Offer is also subject to an Upsize Option, the Allocation Condition and the Re-allocation.

ballot for some, sell for 2-3% gain when the bonds get listed? Smile

There are other relatively safe bond offering in the market with higher yield. 3.03% does not seem attractive with a lock up until 2024 although one can sell anytime. I was told MayBank is offering 2plus% for FD recently. Is there any reason to pick up this bond? I am not if recent Hyflux saga would affect the pick-up rate sentiment for SIA Bond.
