I would prefer Sushi Express over Sakae. The quality and variety of the food there is much better for a much lower price.

Nihon Mura used to also sell sushi at $1.50 a plate. But after a year or so, it had to raise price and cut quality.

Sushi Express is the best so far, as far as mass market kind of sushi is concerned!

Pricing wise is getting closer to Sushi Tei and Itacho. Still the food quality and variety is not there. I hope Sakae has a better strategy to counter all this and vested shareholders should have a say or query at the next AGM.

Agreed that Sakae's food quality had drop greatly. I used to frequent the Sakae outlet. However, I had not visited it for a couple of month since its quality drop, the wasabi's quality also not consistent.

Wasabi quality is best at Itacho. I personally saw them change-out the wasabi at the end of every day. Followed by Sushi Express, which is kept fresh when they are sealed and packed.

TGIF.

SAKAE Holdings, which owns restaurant chain Sakae Sushi, has diversified into corporate advisory services, and its first client is Q&M Dental Group...

In a statement on Tuesday, the group said its wholly owned unit, Sakae Corporate Advisory, has been appointed to serve as Q&M Dental Group's corporate adviser for two years.

Is this the reason why Q&M price has gone up yesterday and today?

I don't see the valid reason of the diversification. Corporate Advisory, has no synergy with F&B biz.

I can't understand it too... also, why would Q&M sign on a corporate advisory firm with no prev experience?

For good quality Japanese food, try the restaurant at Amara Hotel Level 2. The SET LUNCH is really good. $25 - $35.

After I eat this, I dont want to eat other japanese food for the same $$$.
