Further to the Company's announcement made on 23 October 2012 in relation to the Placement,
the Board of Directors of the Company is pleased to announce that the Singapore Exchange
Securities Trading Limited (the "SGX-ST") has on 9 November 2012 granted its approval inprinciple (the "AIP") for the listing and quotation of up to 33,000,000 new ordinary shares (the
"Placement Shares") in the capital of the Company to be issued at S$0.40 per Placement Share.

Based on the Company’s issued share capital of 1,539,101,551 Shares (excluding 6,963,320
treasury shares) as at the date of this Announcement, 61,564,062 Rights Shares will be
issued pursuant to the Rights Issue.

Using the rights price of 0.38, the company is valued at around 584m. wow incredible!!! its NAV is only 183m (excluding non controlling interests)
If i have 584m, i would rather buy up 100% of TheHourGlass + maybe a small developer like SingHoldings.

...

Last night, i had a sweet dream, i dreamt that if i have a company and i would like to "raise" money from shareholders in exchange for my "valuable" shares, i would come up with the following magic.

-Maintain a low public float, as i can control the share price more easily through legal means by consistent share buyback.
-Do a stock split as frequently as possible since the market likes it and will give a more generous valuation.
-After achieving these, find a brokerage to do a share placement, as long as i pay a good commission, there will sure be a brokerage to sell my shares at a high price.
- Meanwhile, find a rich friend to keep the share price high. with a low public float, this is easily achievable. This is important as it gives the impression that my company is really valuable.
- Do a rights issue as and when market sentiment is good. Keep the ratio low so that share price wont drop too much. This is important cos if it drops below 50 cents, cannot do stock split anymore

Damn hard work. all i am trying to do is to exchange my "valuable" company shares for cash. This is obviously fair since minority shareholders wont know what to do with their cash anyway

A dream is just a dream. i wish i have a company but i dont think i would be so generous. How can i exchange my "valuable" company shares for minority shareholders' hard earned cash?

perhaps the minority shareholders know and profited from it ?

Just ask those who subscribed for the right issue at 21cents.

and if the minority shareholders are afraid, perhaps they can sell off at 41cents after the right issue.
Still make 3 cents from paying 38 cents.

It is always possible to make money from doing something stupid. I shared in the chinaPaper thread how i still made some money in many S-chips that have some accounting fraud. I am not proud of it, i just find it funny that i escaped unharmed. i would have deserved to lose most of my money.

IMO, the best way to progress intellectually while making money is by value-investing, and not by doing something stupid.

... aspial seems a little hard to rise further. or do you intend to take up the rights at 38 cents and hope that it can rise to 76? Smile
