Not sure but my memory tells me vaguely that Cold Storage used to be owned by a Goodman Fielder, probably with Australian connections

Green Giraffe : Thanks for reply. Very helpful. My only reason is whats in the price. All Lippo Group companies trade at discount. In this case it is classic Net Net situation with no values being assigned to its brands. If Saw can turn around thats free call option.

Dun be too hopeful. In Auric's case, they are mere agents - if they are too successful, they risk building a brand name that will be taken back by principal.

Auric is no Dairy Farm, hence an individual wouldn't make a difference. In the case of Saw, she just happened to be in the right place at the right time - its the competitive structure of SMRT back then that brought smiles to shareholders.

Has anyone ever wonder why she didn't stay longer to clean up the mess at SMRT. That's why high flying CEOs always have the easy way out and enjoy all the benefits.

Auric

Results out on Friday evening. NAV S$ 1.80 up from S$ 1.79. Again Net Current Asset more than market cap. Interestingly they pointed margin improvement in manufacturing business ( mainly bakery business in Singapore) : which should read positive for QAF too.

Auric Pac trying to do a Metro kanna caught. That is the reason why it is trading at steep discount to RNAV.

Something brewing here? Price has almost doubled in the last few months. Or is it riding on the F N N bandwagon, even though both have little in common.

Businesses of Auric:
Food Junction, Food Culture
Malones American Café
Tetsu
Delifrance
Sunshine Bakeries

Marketing and Distribution segment brands:
Anlene, Berri Juice, Birds Eye, Fernleaf, Heinz, Kraft, Lee Kum Kee, Twinings, Ovaltine, McCain, Perfect Italiano, Kewpie Dressing, McCormick, Meadow Lea, Munchy’s, Olive Grove, Praise, POST, Sara Lee, Simplot, Emborg, Sunquick, Paysan Breton, Vivo, Pringles, Dark Dog, Darabif, Amsterdam beer, Grolsch beer and many others.

During AGM, CEO Saw Phaik Huat expressed optimism over the company's prospects and establishment Of S$500,000,000 Multicurrency Medium Term Note Programme.

I think she is quite capable in this type of business? e.g, she established advertising and retail outlets while she was in SMRT. But obviously, she can't run the rail segment very well, forgoing all the necessary maintenance and proper management.

Auric: P/E 11x, NAV $1.88, small size of shares outstanding around 126mil.

Any comments?

Opps, I didn't know there is an existing thread already.

for FY 2012 they actually made a loss of 1 million
the 12.5 mil in tax credits turned the year from red to black.

I see this more as an asset + turn around play

given their very low gearing, they should continue paying out at least 3 cent dividends

But with the stock price already up at 1.32
the yield is only about 2%, which is very low

I will be watching from the side lines to see if the new CEO can turn the company around, I would play it safe and wait for next year's annual report to see how she plays it out.

Don't expect anything good to come out of it. So many years of diwosification and wealth destruction.

If there is any positive, its like hitting ToTo jackpot.
