Looks like he is about to kick some ass and take some names...

Here Is What Donald Trump Wants To Do In His First 100 Days

On the same day, I will begin taking the following 7 actions to protect American workers:
* FIRST, I will announce my intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205
* SECOND, I will announce our withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership
* THIRD, I will direct my Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator
* FOURTH, I will direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately
* FIFTH, I will lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars' worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.
* SIXTH, lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward
* SEVENTH, cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America's water and environmental infrastructure

Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law:
* FIRST, cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama
* SECOND, begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States
* THIRD, cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities
* FOURTH, begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won't take them back
* FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.

Let's pause and think for a moment the implications of his plan:
1. "Cancel" Paris Climate agreement (2:48)

2. "Rip up" the Iran Deal (4:04)

News Media aside and dynamic political debate talks aside, even if Trump fully enforced what he has said in his website on immigration, I thought is within logical and practical sense. I did not find mention of Muslim specifically. He even support well being of those who are lawful immigrants.

"Protect the economic well-being of the lawful immigrants already living here by curbing uncontrolled foreign worker admissions"

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/immigration/

Clintons and Medias got it wrong totally on this front. I thought Singapore can use it for study. If I remember correctly Singapore can even cane and imprison illegal immigrants on their sentence before deporting them.

Quote:Move criminal aliens out day one, in joint operations with local, state, and federal law enforcement. We will terminate the Obama administration’s deadly, non-enforcement policies that allow thousands of criminal aliens to freely roam our streets.
Quote:Immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal executive amnesties. All immigration laws will be enforced - we will triple the number of ICE agents. Anyone who enters the U.S. illegally is subject to deportation. That is what it means to have laws and to have a country.

Sounds cold and pragmatic but still within reason on surface, but as usual, the reality is more complicated than that. There are millions of people living in the US who were brought into the country as a child has has grown to become an integrated part of American society today: http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-daca...story.html Or children born in the US (Americans) with illegal parents. Many have registered for these "amnesties" (not really amnesties) and now they are facing the prospect of almost immediate deportation (hopefully with due process).

The 2 "amnesties" are:
1. Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deferred_A..._Americans
Quote:American immigration policy to grant deferred action status to certain illegal immigrants who have lived in the United States since 2010 and have children who are either American citizens or lawful permanent residents.

2. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deferred_A...d_Arrivals
Quote:American immigration policy passed by President Obama as an executive action that allows certain undocumented immigrants to the United States who entered the country before their 16th birthday and before June 2007 to receive a renewable two-year work permit and exemption from deportation.
Let's ignore the moral issues and social impact of uprooting millions of Americans from their homes; there can be dire economic and geopolitical consequences as well.

But my biggest single issue with president-elect Trump is Climate Change:

Some background:

For those that do not have time to watch to full video, just skip to 17:54 when he talks about the Paris Agreement; but I highly recommend to watch the full video to get a perspective of where we are right now in 2016.

Transcript (17:54):

Quote:Last question, "Will we change?" Paris really was a breakthrough, some of the provisions are binding and the regular reviews will matter a lot. But nations aren't waiting, they're going ahead. China has already announced that starting next year, they're adopting a nationwide cap and trade system. They will likely link up with the European Union. The United States has already been changing. All of these coal plants were proposed in the next 10 years and canceled. All of these existing coal plants were retired. All of these coal plants have had their retirement announced. All of them -- canceled. We are moving forward.Last year -- if you look at all of the investment in new electricity generation in the United States, almost three-quarters was from renewable energy, mostly wind and solar.
18:41
We are solving this crisis. The only question is: how long will it take to get there? So, it matters that a lot of people are organizing to insist on this change. Almost 400,000 people marched in New York City before the UN special session on this. Many thousands, tens of thousands, marched in cities around the world. And so, I am extremely optimistic. As I said before, we are going to win this.

Quote:
  • We’re going to rescind all the job-destroying Obama executive actions including the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule.

  • We’re going to save the coal industry and other industries threatened by Hillary Clinton’s extremist agenda.

  • I’m going to ask Trans Canada to renew its permit application for the Keystone Pipeline.

  • We’re going to lift moratoriums on energy production in federal areas

  • We’re going to revoke policies that impose unwarranted restrictions on new drilling technologies. These technologies create millions of jobs with a smaller footprint than ever before.

  • We’re going to cancel the Paris Climate Agreement and stop all payments of U.S. tax dollars to U.N. global warming programs.

  • Any regulation that is outdated, unnecessary, bad for workers, or contrary to the national interest will be scrapped. We will also eliminate duplication, provide regulatory certainty, and trust local officials and local residents.

  • Any future regulation will go through a simple test: is this regulation good for the American worker? If it doesn’t pass this test, the rule will not be approved.

I want the future to be a better place for my children. I want my children to have a world to live in. I really hope that Donald Trump is just sprouting empty rhetoric to garner support from his republican base. I wish he is actually a sensible person deep down, and is just putting up a strong front.

Maybe, just maybe.. Be hopeful, but I am keeping a close watch on this:
Quote:Someone else was on that list, too: Donald J. Trump, and his three children. That’s right: The Republican nominee for president supported urgent climate action before he opposed it.

..

The Copenhagen talks ultimately came to very little. Not until last year did the UN managed to produce a successful document to halt climate change at its Paris conference. Ironically, Trump promised to pull the United States out of the Paris Agreement last month during his sole speech on energy policy. The speech didn’t say much else about climate change.

As with many other issues, I hope that he is a just a liar instead of a maniac.

Trump will likely stop USA spending money on all those things that do not have tangible benefits and beef up US military might. It's a good way to go actually, China's nuclear submarine and unopposed building of military outposts in the Spratlys has to stop at some point.

In 1987, Trump spent $100K on an advertisement criticising US trade policy with Japan and interference in the Persian Gulf.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/ilanbenmeir/tha...tg8BnxnBAW

Quote:"“For decades, Japan and other nations have been taking advantage of the United States,” the letter declares. “The saga continues unabated as we defend the Persian Gulf, an area of only marginal significance to the United States for its oil supplies, but one upon which Japan and others are almost totally dependent.”

“Why are these nations not paying the United States for the human lives and billions of dollars we are losing to protect their interests?” the ad continues."

So these are his beliefs, not just empty talk.

De-globalisation, with an inward looking US, is a real possibility.  None of us have seen this in our lives.  The Americans have been carrying the bag for too long, they do not have to always be the guarantor of world peace and the buyer of last resort.  A lot of countries need to learn how to defend themselves, and how to build their economies without continually exporting stuff.

How to invest in this kind of world?
I wait until there is money lying in the corner, and all I have to do is go over there and pick it up.

First Ford and now Carrier. Trump is not even officially president yet. Doing his job well as his people expects.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carrier Reaches Deal With Trump Team to Keep 1,000 U.S. Jobs

Carrier agreed to keep about 1,000 jobs at an Indiana factory that had been set to move to Mexico, marking a victory for President-elect Donald Trump on an issue that had become a rallying cry during his campaign.
“We are pleased to have reached a deal” with Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence to keep the work in the U.S., Carrier said Tuesday in a tweet. An event to announce the agreement is slated for Thursday in Indiana, where Pence is governor, according to people familiar with the matter.
Carrier said earlier this year it would move the furnace plant’s operations, eliminating 1,400 U.S. jobs, to keep production costs competitive. The decision garnered national notice after a worker’s cell-phone video of the announcement to employees took off on social media and generated criticism of Carrier parent United Technologies Corp., which is also a major defense contractor that supplies engines for U.S. fighter jets.
Trump, as well as Democratic U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, seized on the announcement and used the company in their presidential campaigns as an example of how U.S. workers were being hurt by trade deals. In April, Trump said he would impose a hefty tax on Carrier’s Mexican-made products and “within 24 hours, they’re going to call back: ‘Mr. President, we’ve decided to stay. We’re coming back to Indianapolis.’”

Defense Contracts
In the past week, Sanders called on Trump to use defense contracts and other issues as leverage to get United Technologies to keep the factory in Indiana. The Farmington, Connecticut-based company also makes Pratt & Whitney jet engines and Otis elevators, in addition to Carrier air conditioners and heating equipment.

United Technologies had stuck by its Carrier decision, with Chief Executive Officer Gregory Hayes saying shortly before this month’s presidential election that the move was necessary to keep pace with competitors who have moved manufacturing work to Mexico in the past decade. Trump tweeted on Thanksgiving that he was “making progress” with the company, and Carrier responded that day by saying it was in talks with the president-elect’s team.

The Carrier deal comes after Trump said he helped persuade Ford Motor Co. to keep a plant in Kentucky, though the company said it never intended to close the facility.
