Clinton declares Trump a 'threat' to US democracy
20 May 2016 06:49
[WASHINGTON] Hillary Clinton on Thursday blasted her likely general election rival Donald Trump as a threat to US democracy and declared him unqualified to be president, unleashing some of her toughest criticism yet of the Republican presumptive nominee.

"The threat that Donald Trump poses is so dramatic to our country, to our democracy and our economy," the former secretary of state told CNN in an interview.

With the SuperPac USA already got their principle wrong. With Trump the world is wondering if the system is wrong. People around the world are already starting to question the intelligence of a mature developed electorate. If this happens in USA how much more can happen in developing countries? The best way forward for china is democracy suddenly doesn't look like a sure thing.

Personally I think history will judge that Pax Americana peaked at 911.

PS Monica scandal has NOTHING to do with the presidential race. That's wagging the dog.

It is like Zika. It will happen to all electorates, the question is when. Most importantly, is to ensure the system in place, when it happens to reduce the damages. I reckon, US has the most robust system in place, for a "Trump" president, without too much damages.  Big Grin

I see all 3 candidates have their own issues.

Hillary already a lot of scandals but she should be business as usual. wars in middle east, big business interest at least she is a career politician she knows her way around, she should know what can or cannot do leaders of other nations will also welcome it. Unfortunately american voters don't want establishment person, american voters must decide.

Trump is a wildcard a lot of world leaders are now feeling very jittery. The problem is trump flips faster than roti prata man changes tune from day to day. Nation leaders always choose what they say carefully because their word is final and even they cannot back it out. So Mexico has to pay for the wall they already so poor now have to come out 15 billion to build a damn wall. A lot of trade and defense pacts if he starts to really undo them could create a lot of big black swans.

Also during campaign there were a lot of personal attacks he pissed off many, voters love his cowboy style of shooting from the hip but american voters don't run the government, the people he pissed off runs it. Will it ultimately be everybody vs trump?

Bernie Sanders scandal free, soft spoken grandfatherly looking genteel is probably the most dangerous of all 3.

Trump can do without the conventional media coverage, with his online campaign...

Trump bans Washington Post from his campaign events
14 Jun 2016 07:34
[WASHINGTON] White House hopeful Donald Trump, in his latest attack on the media, said Monday he was rescinding The Washington Post's press credentials for covering his campaign events.

"Based on the incredibly inaccurate coverage and reporting of the record-setting Mr Trump campaign, we are hereby revoking the press credentials of the phony and dishonest Washington Post," Mr Trump wrote in a tweet.

Later, the campaign said in a statement that "we no longer feel compelled to work with a publication which has put its need for 'clicks' above journalistic integrity."

The distinguished daily became the latest media outlet targeted by the Trump camp, which has reportedly banned several news organisations from attending his events and press conferences over the past year, including Buzzfeed, the Des Moines Register, the Huffington Post, Politico and Univision.

Support for Trump is now at 40% vs 39% for Clinton. Just a short time back, Clinton had a big lead.
The sentiments of the US voters reminds me of Mr. Market!
But unlike Mr. Market, who can change his mood every trading day, you are stuck with the same president for 4 years, depending on the mood of Mr. Voter on one particular day.

Trump is against loose immigration and illegal aliens. The others just turn a blind eye.

That's the key pain points of many Americans even Black and Hispanic, who have to fight with them for jobs. Many whites fear of job loss to other countries as well. He is fighting what's matter. The number one worries of many Americans. He got a good chance of winning imo. All his negativity is minor and acceptable to many.
