To be honest, i think the real use of their reports is to compile data and do some simple analysis. I dont pay attention to what they say. In my experience, all their "forecasts" are practically useless. Most of them only start giving buy or sell calls on highly traded companies, or if the share price start rising, at which point most of the news is factored into the share price. They are also limited by the "stance" or "view" of the brokerages they work for. Not trying to be arrogant, but I suspect (just my opinion), most of the forum buddies here would probably have a better track record in managing capital than the analysts. Not saying which analyst report is right or wrong, I used to own valuetronics but have not been updated since selling out, so I have absolutely nothing of value to contribute, but just saying that I think we should take their report with a pinch of salt and use only the data they compiled. Your own opinion and judgement, after taking into account the data, is probably more valuable.

That was roughly in line with analyst forecasts as the company was hit by several one-off charges, including a 366 million euro fine relating to a lost U.S. patent lawsuit against medical equipment manufacturer Masimo. Philips is appealing. There were also 49 million euros in writedowns, mainly in inventory, after an earlier production suspension at its Cleveland, Ohio, factory.

Valuetronics reached 44 cents today on volume of 7.9M shares. For those of us who bought at 30 cents, I guess the bet was worth it; rapid rise in ICE sales making up for the gradual decline of CE (LED) sales. The real reward comes at the full year reporting next quarter, when they will hopefully dish out good dividends to reward loyal stakeholders. The CEO's strategic game plan looks good; if anyone can win in this cut-throat business, I believe he can. (vested)
