e-cig will lead to the eventual death of traditional tobacco and all their supporting industries such as tobacco printing/packaging...

How come we seldom see the Kodak films nowadays? this will happen one day to traditional cigarette as well...

the thing about supporting players is that they can evolve to support other industries

The highest profit margin comes from the tobacco packaging/printing segment, and not the mundane FMCG (fast moving consumer goods)...
Once the company moves into FMCG, the economic moat would be hard to preserve...

Stockerman,

You admitted that you have 700 lots.

Earlier you said that after the announcement of Sp Div, the shares price will drop. Instead it went up yesterday and continued to inch up today.

Now you said this again.

Despite all your negatives words, you held on to you stock. You did not sell. Why? Why did you not trust your word? Why you did not walk your talk? Instead you did the opposite! What is your motive?

Hi Buddie,

Don't bother about Stockerman's intention - treat him like an old recorder. Marc Faber is always Dr Doom but he still long shares.

Just focus on your own game - 700k of New Toyo is seriously nothing - S$224k.

If you think that New Toyo is undervalued just stay focus and keep investing - buy till it hurts.

For me, my New Toyo has not seen day light since my IPO way back from pre Asian Financial Crisis. From above book value till below book value. Unfortunately, even though New Toyo is a support industry player for a supposedly defensive industry, its business nature is far from defensive. Even former associate - SAH also went from a supposedly high growth China tobacco packing industry player into a FMCG packaging player and suddenly sold off its core business piecemeal and disappeared.

Basically, track record here at New Toyo is highly questionable at least IMO. How things will unfold, I don't know but will certainly be watching the drama from hereon.

Yes agreed. I tend to ignore Stockerman's intention and just skip most of whatever he say regarding new toyo (anyways after a while you'll notice he seem to emotionalize too much and kept saying the same old things - so in fact you won't miss anything important if you skipped his part). Do your own research & form your own opinion. Good luck!

New Toyo's NAV will adjust DOWNWARDS after the payment of special dividends because this special dividend is not NEW MONEY to begin with. Investors just don't seem to get it. It is akin to a mini "capital reduction" exercise.

Of course, the normal course of business will improve its NAV. So net net end of FY NAV might remain around 36 cents...

Would be grateful if moderator would help to "moderate". Wife can "scold" husbands but at the end of the day, they are still wife and husband.

The aim of this forum is to "make comments on counters", and not "personal attacks". Many tks.

You said, "Marc Faber is always Dr Doom but he still long shares."

Marc Faber is different. He doomed the whole market; but there could be stocks who might go against the trend of the market. He therefore longs these stocks.

But, this Stockerman is different. He is NEW TOYO specific. His walk and talk are totally opposite. Some new buddies or unknown readers could be misled by him and suffer losses.... Such conduct and motives MUST BE QUESTIONED and CHALLENGED.
