I am a shareholder. Are you?

Unless you are bigger than Yen family, it wont make a difference. I am a super wrong term holder - are you?

Have you attended their IPO launch in 1997? Have you attended the SAH IPO launch in 2004?

In his post INVESTRIGHT had mentioned the following:

""yeah was quite surprised that you are a shareholder in this stock. was reading through the posts and realized 90% of the objections (quite frequently too - probably every 1-2 days?) from new toyo comes from you! haha""

If it is true that Stockerman is a shareholder and at the same time commenting negatively on this share, we will have to be very very MINDFUL.

Rest assured that BAT will pass on more printing business to Tien Wah/New Toyo as it gains foothold in the Philippines with close to 100mil people Smile

BAT jacks up purchases of tobacco leaves
By Ronnel W. Domingo
Philippine Daily Inquirer
11:16 pm | Tuesday, April 30th, 2013 0 33 0AGOO, LA UNION—British American Tobacco’s Philippine unit has doubled its yearly purchase of local tobacco leaves to 3.6 million kilograms as the company strives for a firmer foothold in the domestic market.

James Lafferty, BAT Philippines general manager, said in an interview that the company had been taking steps toward previously announced expansion plans, starting with making good on its promise to increase local leaf procurement.

The leaves will be brought to Malaysia where BAT has a cigarette factory. Some of the products with Philippine input will be brought back to the local market.

Lafferty said the leaves would also be used for blending with produce from other areas, with the finished products to be sold in other markets.

He said this year’s purchases made BAT the biggest buyer of local leaves in relation to market share.

“We are only less than one percent of the market and yet we are buying almost 5 percent of the total projected harvest (for the 2012-2013 planting season),” Lafferty said.

In the Philippines, particularly in the Ilocos region, the single-cycle planting season starts in November or December. For a rain-averse crop such as tobacco, harvest comes around during the hottest months of the year.

“The excess Philippine tobacco leaves that we buy are being consumed all around the globe as I have pushed the company to use these for other markets,” Lafferty added.

BAT Philippines gets its entire supply of Philippine leaves from Universal Leaf Philippines Inc. (ULPI), which has a processing facility in this town.

ULPI, the biggest direct buyer of crops from growers, is an affiliate of Universal Corp. which is based in Richmond, Virginia in the United States.

Also, the BAT Philippines chief said the company was planning to invest at least $50 million in the domestic market this year, mainly to hire more employees and beef up its distribution and marketing network.

BAT Philippines has committed to lay out at least $200 million over a five-year period.

The company, which has re-established itself in the country after pulling out in 2009, is also introducing new variants of its products to expand its market share.

Lafferty said BAT would introduce in the next two weeks a menthol variant of its Lucky Strike brand called “Click & Roll Fresh.”

A shareholder cannot comment negatively about his own company meh? It's not like he's the CEO...

What I have said were based on anecdotal evidence...

If u think otherwise, u are free to counter-propose and rebuke me. This is a free for all forum. It does not matter whether I own 1 lot or 1000 lots, I will continue to criticise the company if I can find new supporting evidences.

This is not right just as well for people to drum up expectations when actually there is nothing special about the company at all. NAV of about 36 cents. Share price about 30 cents – more or less well valued by market I suppose.

For example, like many old timer companies, there will definitely be lots of paper gain from properties and investment properties. Whether this can and will be realized is a totally different thing altogether.

Since you have so much anecdotal evidence and deduction, have you sold or scale down your holdings?

Whether I scale up or scale down is irrelevant....
I have more than 700 lots and can still comment negatively on New Toyo. No reason for me to relent.

Did u see the pony tail of chairman? How seriously can u take the words of a man who does not even know the key statistics of his company well at the tips of his fingers?

Also, do u all think that it is so "coincidental" that Old Gary could become the CEO of SAH?
Why didn't New Toyo oppose the move to sell off SAH so cheaply?
think hard !

technically, Tien Wah/New toyo's printing business should generate enough cashflow to support any asset renewal and expansion, and they need not tap onto the payout from SAH to pare down current borrowing of New Toyo/Tien Wah, or even use the money to fund new infra investment for Tien Wah/New Toyo.
But at the recent AGM, what was the impression given? think hard!

A shareholder CAN talk negatively about anything; even his own family members. But, it will be a serious matter if on the one hand he is trying to influence people to sell and at the same time he continues to buy in the same share ....

Doesn't controlling shareholders do that all the time? Give big dividend, price rises and then sell off stock. Withhold dividend, price crash and then buy in.
