Buying 1 lot at 29 cents gave the impression that the stock has climbed to 29 when in fact there were only bids at 27.5 cents and not much bids.

You are right. Some buyers buy just 1 lot from the seller, so as to create a false impression that the price has gone up. It ends up buyer and seller pay a lot of commission relative to the value of 1 lot.

if one has a trading account with Standard Charted Bank and has a sizable account, the cost of trading 1 lot should be very little...
this is done to test the market, much to the angst of the sellers...haha

I am the one who bought 1 lot at 28cts today, and I am using the T/A from Standard Charted Bank.

I think the seller would not be annoyed by the 1 lot, since he was only queuing 1 lot for selling at 28cts.

looking at such situation, it is time that SGX should fully allow min board lot of 1 share to trade, with the aim of bringing down commission and related fee so toenable small player to play...what is sgx waiting for?

Most broker firms are charging minimum commission of $25 per trade. SGX should reduce this minimum commission so more small retail investors can trade.

New Toyo is just riding on the coattail of the general euphoric sentiments...with 1/3 of revenue/profit gone with the winding down of SAH, it has to find new investment to replace the lost revenue/profit.

Last year, the counter also rose in the period leading up to the announcement of the full-year results. But it was sold off post announcement as investors were disappointed possibly because there was no increase in regular dividends, and NO SPECIAL DIVIDEND.... Regular dividends will not be increased because of the winding down of SAH business..
Don’t expect anything big to happen in the immediate future…

heard from some friends that many are starting to dump off below 30 cents - few hundred lots.....so this might depress price for a while ...

they got tired of waiting for news; also, they heard that printing margin has been depressed from rising cost of materials....
