Inspirational Stories 077 - The Guan Yin Bodhisattva Cured the Pain in My Knee Joint

Two days ago, an unexpected pain developed in my left knee joint. I applied some medicine on it but it was ineffective. Then yesterday, the pain became more severe and as a result, it took me longer than usual to walk to work. I suspected that it was because my daughter’s karmic debts transferred to me since I recited Buddhist scriptures for her. Last night, I dreamt about a man with a mean face who was looking for me everywhere. I hid in a dormitory building and as I was worried and anxious, I silently recited the Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s holy name, made a vow to offer thirteen Little Houses to my karmic creditors and also prayed to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva for protecting me. Afterwards, I had planned to take a shower at the bathhouse. When I returned to my room, I encountered the man. However, his attitude was completely different – he was very polite when he talked to me. After I woke up from my dream, I offered the morning incense and thanked the Guan Yin Bodhisattva for saving me and I reinforced my vow to offer thirteen Little Houses to my karmic creditors. Later, at work, the pain in my knee just disappeared. My mum was happy when I informed her that the pain was gone since she was quite worried about me.

当一岁8个月的爱女被医生断定患上高风险血癌时，
身为律师的黄奕明同修夫妇顿时感到束手无策，
除了接受适当的医疗之外还到处求神拜佛，
希望可以解救已陷入生命终点边缘的小女儿。

两夫妇有幸搭上心灵法门列车后，并且遵从心灵法门的仪轨，
为病危的女儿进行了第一次用儿子的干细胞移植手术，
虽然手术顺利完成，但天不从人愿，
由於两夫妇过后懈怠和不够精进， 女儿在复原期的短短两个月后，
体内残余的癌细胞再次复活，这时医生也显得束手无策，
还断定心爱的女儿只剩下2个月的生命，
两夫妇只能怀着刺痛和无助的心，
眼白白的看着死神从女儿的身上降临。

最后两夫妇痛定思痛，终于明白到愿力必须大过业力的道理后，
亦然下定决心重新发大愿，
认真运用心灵法门的三大法宝：念经，许愿，放生。
终于在某天就医的过程中得悉有一种新疗法，
但医生说目前还没有任何案例可以参考，
成功率是个未知数，
为了不忍心看到病如膏亡的女儿就此离他们而去，
两夫妇决定孤注一掷，采取那不被医生看好，
成功率只有20%，采用不相配干细胞移植的手术方案。

这段解救爱女之路，虽然路途布满荆棘，但凭着他们两夫妇坚定的信念与
菩萨的慈悲庇佑，就在这时刻，
奇迹的果实开始慢慢的萌芽了...

Inspirational Stories 076 Two Inspirational Incidents I Recently Experienced

Deepest gratitude to the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Deepest gratitude to the merciful Master Lu! Deepest gratitude to the senior Dharma followers who share their inspirational experiences!

In 2012, after browsing the Internet one day, I came across the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. Since then, inspirational incidents have happened to me one after the other and I would like to share two recent incidents with you.

1. One day, after I got home, I felt dizzy, drowsy and could barely open my eyes. I offered the night incense and performed my daily recitations of Buddhist scriptures, which included reciting the 88 Buddhas Great Repentance five times. At the time, I recalled Master Lu saying that if we had offended any foreign spirits by accident, we could make a vow to offer several Little Houses to them. (During the Spring Festival this year, after I introduced Buddhism to several others, I experienced the same feeling and it lasted for several days. However, I instantly felt better after I made a vow to offer Little Houses.) I then kneeled in front of the Guan Yin Bodhisattva and said, “I do not know who owes karmic debts to these foreign spirits but I will now make a vow to offer four Little Houses to my karmic creditors. Can those foreign spirits please claim their debts from their own karmic debtors. Can the Guan Yin Bodhisattva please protect me.” What happened next was truly amazing! I instantly felt refreshed and awakened and thus, could focus on my daily recitations. I helped my son to recite the 88 Buddhas Great Repentance, and afterwards, I performed my daily recitations with a lot of Dharma bliss.

2. One Sunday, my daughter and her husband took their 4-year-old daughter out for breakfast. Before they left, my granddaughter was fine but she felt unwell once they got to the noodle shop. She did not feel like eating and got a fever. We placed a fever reducing plaster on her and I recited the Great Compassionate Mantra seven times for her. However, in the afternoon, her temperature rose so we took her to see the doctor. She had a 40-degree fever and the doctor prescribed her a lot of medicine, which she refused to take. I immediately made a vow to offer three Little Houses to her karmic creditors and fortunately, her temperature reduced a bit. That evening, I offered two Little Houses to her karmic creditors but in the morning, she still had a fever. I realised that I did not offer enough Little Houses for her karmic creditors. I then made a vow to offer an extra Little House. After a while, her temperature completely dropped without her taking any medicine. When I visited her that night, she was thoroughly cured. My daughter’s mother-in-law was very happy and said, “It normally takes several days to cure a child’s fever. I knew she would be fine since you recited scriptures for her”. As a Dharma follower of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, I understood that it was the Guan Yin Bodhisattva blessing my granddaughter and us with her mercifulness and compassion.

2012 Hong Kong Dharma Function – Extraordinary Case 02

The following case is extracted from “The Art of Applying Comprehensive Metaphysics” Grand Dharma Function in Hong Kong 2012. Master Lu performed Totem Enquiries live on stage and answered questions from the audience to help them overcome difficulties with their health, career, and everyday issues.

When a person is asking Master Lu to perform Totem Enquiry, if a living person is being enquired, then the year of birth and the Chinese zodiac sign of that person are to be stated. If a deceased person is being enquired, then the full name of the deceased and the exact written characters of the name are to be stated.

A 74 year-old lady praised Master Lu for his incredibly accurate Totem Enquiry reading. When Master Lu performed Totem Enquiry, this elderly lady spoke inappropriately leading to a foreign spirit coming to occupy her body for retaliation. Master Lu gave instructions on the spot and helped to resolve the conflict.

Master Lu: Madam, please sit down. Madam, please sit down.

Enquirer: Hello respected Master Lu.

Master Lu: Hello.

Enquirer: Could you please… I was born in 1938, Year of the Tiger.

Master Lu: Year of the Tiger.

Enquirer: Year of the Tiger. Please perform Totem Enquiry for me.

Master Lu: What would you like me to have a look at?

Enquirer: See if I have any Flat Obstacles on my body.

Master Lu: What’s ”Flat Obstacles“? It’s called “having karmic obstacles”.”Flat Obstacles“? What’s that?

Enquirer: Could you please see what kind of karmic obstacles I have on my body? How many foreign spirits do I have?

Master Lu: Let me see. Madam. Now I can see that you have two ”Flat Obstacles“. It’s true. One is on your neck, so your shoulders and neck are very sore, correct?

Enquirer: Correct!

Master Lu: The other ”Flat Obstacle“ is on your leg.

Enquirer: Correct!

Master Lu: Madam, you need to practise Buddhism and eliminate these two ”Flat Obstacles“. You need to recite 49 Little Houses for each ”Flat Obstacle“. Do you understand?

Enquirer: I understand.

Master Lu: Let me also tell you, your teeth are not good.

Enquirer: Correct!

Master Lu: Speak louder.

Enquirer: Correct!

Master Lu: Okay. Let me tell you, Madam, you should keep in mind, your cardiovascular system is not good. You have heart problems.

Enquirer: Yes.

Master Lu: Do you understand?

Enquirer: I understand.

Master Lu: Hm. The Totem shows this very clearly. I can even see your previous life. Do you want to know about your previous life?

Enquirer: I really want to know!

Master Lu: You were a man. Do you understand?

Enquirer: I understand. There was one time back in 2002, on the night of June 2nd, I was very energetic. Not sleepy. I closed my eyes and there I was, but in my mind I saw an image.

Master Lu: It was a Totem.

Enquirer: Totem.

Master Lu: And then, what did you see?

Enquirer: At first I saw a peacock and a phoenix. Then there was a huge round disc shining in golden colour. Even though I had my eyes closed, I could see it clearly. I could see that there were carvings in the centre of the round disc…

Master Lu: Alright, alright. Madam, you don’t need to say any more. This was because your souls and spirits temporarily left your body. Usually, about 60% of your souls and spirits would temporarily leave your body. 40% of them would be in the deep sleep state, also known as the semi-living state. The remaining 60% of your souls and spirits have left your body. Everyone has this ability. When your souls and spirits leave your body, you can see many things. If you cultivate well, you can see things from the heavens. If you have not cultivated well, then you will see things from the underworld. This is what we often refer to as nightmares. Do you understand, Madam?

Enquirer: I understand.

Master Lu: Your level of cultivation is not bad. You can already see things from the heavens. You are a person who has cultivated very well. Do you understand? Now if you can resolve your problems with your lower back and legs, then you should be fine. There’s another bad habit that you must correct. What I can see is that, your Totem is constantly attacking. This means that you are very nosy. Is that correct?

Enquirer: Yes.

Master Lu: Mind your own business and perform more recitations. Do you understand?

Enquirer: I understand.

Master Lu: Alright.

Enquirer: I have one more question.

Master Lu: You may leave now. Ah. How many questions have you asked? How many did she ask? Ah. Let her ask one more. Please ask, Madam.

Enquirer: I had an abortion before.

Master Lu: Hm.

Enquirer: Basically I recited 4 Little Houses. I have also recited 7 Little Houses for my Karmic Creditor. Could Master Lu please take a look at the effectiveness?

Master Lu: All of you tell her, is this enough?

Audience: Not enough.

Master Lu: All of you tell me, how many Little Houses are needed?

Audience: 21 Little Houses!

Master Lu: At least 21, Madam. You need 21 Little Houses for each child. Do you understand?

Enquirer: I understand.

Master Lu: You’re so generous! 4 Little Houses, 7 Little Houses. You even dare to say it. You may leave now.

Enquirer: I just started learning Buddhism. Master Lu, please take a look for me. In the future I will recite more.

Master Lu: Okay, okay, okay. Madam, don’t worry. Your lifespan is very long. Lastly I would like to tell you. Do you understand?

Enquirer: I understand.

Master Lu: Your lifespan is very long. There was an elder in your family who lived to a very old age. Enquirer: Yes.

Master Lu: Right?

Enquirer: Who?

Master Lu: You ask me, who do I ask? You think about it, who in your family lived to a very old age? Grandpa, grandma, or great grandpa? One that lived for a very long time. Oh. Here it comes, here it comes. Careful! Careful! Hold onto her! Hold onto her! The foreign spirit is entering her body now. Alright. Let me communicate with the foreign spirit. Recite 49 Little Houses. Alright?

Enquirer: Alright!

Master Lu: You see. Foreign spirits will come as soon as you mention them. You shouldn’t speak inappropriately. Just now you asked who it is, it comes for you. Do you understand?

Enquirer: I understand.

Master Lu: Will you change?

Enquirer: Yes!

Master Lu: 49 Little Houses, okay?

Enquirer: Okay!

Master Lu: You may leave. Let me tell all of you, she has just escaped her Karmic Passes. Don’t take it lightly. You see the way she was convulsing. She has just escaped her Karmic Passes. Let me tell you, if she wasn’t here with Master Lu, she would continue to convulse like this. Even high blood pressure would develop.

IMPORTANCE OF A CALM MIND DURING RECITATION

Master Lu commented that the lady (who enquired on Totem) was not performing her daily homework diligently. He could see that her mind was not calm during recitation.

Master Lu: If a person is not able to calm his mind, it would not be possible for any prayers to be answered. When you are praying to Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to have your prayers answered, your mind has to be calmed. Only then will Bodhisattva hear you.

Let me ask you, if your phone rings in place with lots of commotion, would you be able to hear? Why is it that you are able to hear your phone when you are in a quiet place? Do you understand now?

Listener : Yes

Master Lu : That is why the first thing is to calm your mind...

PERSEVERANCE & SINCERITY

Master Lu : Be it cultivation or performing recitation, importantly is a person's perseverance and sincerity.

When you recite with your utmost sincerity, you will succeed; without which you will not succeed in anything.

I hope all of you will work hard, bring forth your utmost sincerity in your Buddhism practice, cultivation and when crossing over others.

I hope you will perform recitation of mantras wholeheartedly. Do not regard it as merely performing your homework

Inspirational Stories 075 The Merciful Guan Yin Bodhisattva Helped My Husband get through the Karmic Passes

Deepest gratitude to the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Deepest gratitude to the merciful Master Lu!

Since I started practicing the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door over a year ago, I always felt that the Guan Yin Bodhisattva has been blessing and protecting me. I would like to share an incident that recently happened to my husband. On the evening of 8 October 2014, I was reciting the Buddhist scriptures as usual. Then suddenly, a feeling of drowsiness overcame me and my intuition prompted me to transfer all my merits to my husband. This suggested to me that something bad was going to happen to him and this thought instantly work me up. When my husband arrived home at around 9pm, he told me that he nearly got electrocuted since he forgot to switch off the power when he was fixing a machine at work. I felt very grateful towards the Guan Yin Bodhisattva for blessing my husband but I was anxious since the incident happened to him during the day while my intuition to transfer my merits to him emerged at night. The next morning, I made a vow to transfer the merits I gained from being a volunteer at Master Lu’s Hong Kong Dharma Function to my husband. After that, I thought nothing bad was going to happen to him.

Ten days later, I dreamt about a woman who had very long arms and was hanging off a branch of a tree. When my husband and I walked past her, she asked me who the man was. I told her that he was my husband and nudged him to walk a bit faster. The woman kept calling for my husband and wanted him to stop walking. After waking up, I was scared and anxious since I did not know what was going to happen. Three days later, my husband called me in the afternoon and told me that the machine cut his pinkie. Fortunately, it did not cause any damage to his whole arm. I knew that the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva had blessed him and thus he was able to safely get through the Karmic Passes of age thirty-nine.

I feel very thankful and fortunate that I got the opportunity to know about the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. Deepest gratitude to the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to the merciful Master Lu and to all the senior Dharma followers at the Guan Yin Tang!

发心和境界不一样，功德也不一样

男听众：同修梦见所有的同修在准备法会的物品，师父给同修传真过来功德簿，功德簿上有一排排记录着同修们为师父放生鱼的数量，这个数量是同修放生数量的双倍，同修正迟疑的时候，有个声音说：“发心不一样，功德不一样。”“以为做了很多功德，就是因为发心不一样，功德全没有了。我们执著功德，因为功德而做功德，连发心都没有，怎么可能上功德簿呢？我们所做的每一件事情，菩萨都知道，你们给我小心点，还不提升境界，你们以为师父不知道，护法不知道吗？”请师父开示一下。

台长答：呵呵……你应该把这一段写出来放在你的QQ群上，放在更多的地方，让他们看到。这个你刚刚在讲的时候，师父都看到里面的情况了，我可以告诉你，这完全是真的。因为很多人给师父放生，当然了，你要记住一个问题：师父完全是没有我自己的，我这条命都是为大家的。所以你想想看，他们有些人帮我放生，比方说他放了100斤，那为什么功德本上就记了200斤了呢？他自己都觉得奇怪了。发心啊，他给我放生目的是什么？他让师父救度更多众生啊，你说他这是什么发心啊？（对，是这样）他如果为自己“哎呀，我身体好呀，我要怎么怎么……”我问你，是不是为自己啊？为自己是不是自私啊？是不是有自我啊？（是的）境界不一样，所以功德不一样。但是功德有吗？有。还有的人他为什么求得不灵，放生都不灵呢？因为他放生的时候，脑子里就想到“哎呀，我要好啊，人家说的放1万条就会好了，我就放1万条，不行，我就拿点钱出来，我就放怎么样？我放！”好啦，你这个是什么发心啊？你是赌博心态啊，菩萨怎么会来？护法神怎么会帮你啊？你怎么会有功德啊？（真的是这样，今天有个小姑娘告诉我，她说师父太辛苦了，一心地弘法，无私无我地在度众生，她发心给师父放1万条鱼，真的是很心疼师父）你现在知道就可以了，为什么今天的功德本上就告诉你们，你们自己要知道你们的发心，你们的发心就是让师父身体好一点能够救更多的众生，那你想想看，你这个发心是不是为救更多的众生？又不是给师父放的，对不对？就像师父一样，我过去不喜欢锻炼身体，我现在为什么要锻炼身体？我要让肉身坚强一点，我能救更多众生啊，现在不是为自己啊，过去整天工作，也想不到锻炼身体，现在必须锻炼身体，因为身体好了可以救度更多众生。所以我希望每一个人都身体好，每一个人都能够救度更多众生，这样的话你的发心又大了，更大，因为众生比师父还要厉害（是的，感恩师父慈悲！师父我还能问吗？我已经问了半个小时了）没关系，问吧，呵呵。

我们人要能够接受天上来的佛光, 从天上来的佛光,你们要会接受, 有一句话叫“佛光普照”, 佛光天天有, 只不过你们看不见, 不能接受到。佛光是怎样普照的呢? 佛光普照犹如太阳光一样, 能照到每一个角落, 但是你们的业障太深, 心里的污垢太重, 所以感觉不到所以千万要记住, 佛菩萨的光来时, 要接受它, 要有一个很纯洁的肉体和灵魂, 来接受这佛光。从天上来的佛光普照, 能照到每个角落。如果佛光照到那里, 而你没有接受到佛光, 就叫无缘。太阳照到哪里哪里亮, 但是你躲在房间里就照不到太阳了, 躲在房间里的人, 就像你心里的业障, 看不见光明, 看不见阳光。
