[emoji92]THE POWER OF VOW
IS VIRTUOUS[emoji92]
Male Listener : During liberation of captive lives, we pray for our merits to be transformed to virtue, whereby we say “Guan Yin Bodhisattva, please bless me, help me to untie karmic knots, and eliminate calamities. I will perform more virtuous deeds to cross-over more people of affinity, to follow Master Lu Jun Hong to diligently propagate Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door”. Can we say the same after we perform the Practice of Dharma Giving (Dharma- Dana) and after crossing-over others? Will this help to eliminate negative karmas, gain wisdom and accumulate virtues? Master Lu please enlighten me.
Master Lu : Please remember this. The power of a person’s vow, itself is virtuous. Let me quote you an example. When you see a person drowning in the water, and you said “I must rescue him, I am determined. I must do it”. You then removed your clothes, change into your swimming trunks and you got ready to jump into the water. Right at that moment, you realized that the drowned person has already been rescued by someone else. Though so, don’t you think this action of yours would still earn the admiration of others? (Yes). Haven’t you gain virtue then? (That’s right. Thank you for answering my question).

Master Lu’s discourse to disciple
20150111 (Question 18)
[emoji92]FACTORS THAT AFFECT
THE QUALITY OF
LITTLE HOUSE[emoji92]
Q: Master Lu, you used to mention that each aborted child requires 21 pieces of Little Houses. However, off late there are many cases which needed 49 pieces instead. May I know why the change in numbers?
A: The quality of Little Houses being recited is deteriorating . 21 pieces would no longer be able to solve the problem. That’s why upon reading some Totems, I advised some of them to recite 49 pieces instead. There are some who have successfully transferred merits with just 21 pieces. However, there are others whom as soon as I connect to them I know immediately that 21 pieces will be insufficient.
Recitation done hastily and the lack of sincerity in repenting are the main reasons that affect the quality of Little Houses and hence the effectiveness is compromised. Having said so, the exact number of pieces required will still vary case by case.

Words of Wisdom
by Master Lu to disciple
(Question 20)
Q : Is there a correlation between a person’s blessings and his upholding of the Precepts.
A : There is definitely a correlation between a person’s blessings and his upholding of the Precepts. The stronger a person upholds the Precepts, the bigger his blessings will be. Such a person will not “Double-tongued”, involved in lewd speech, cause harm to others, steal, or be involved in intoxication. Don’t you think this person will be blessed? When he is strong in upholding the Precepts, he is not greedy, he has no hatred, he is not ignorant, don’t you think his blessings will be immense? On the other hand, if a person is greedy, wants to possess excessively, do you think he will be a blessed person? For a start, he will be disliked by others.

HOW TO UNTIE KARMIC KNOTS BETWEEN PARENTS AND CHILDREN shouhua20130118
Female Listener: You often mention to be filial to parents; many children and their parents have very deep karmic knots, where parents owed them to their children in the previous lives and now the children are collecting their karmic dues. If the children treat the parents with filial piety in place of disrespects, at the same time the parents take good care of the children with proper upbringing, this will eliminate karmic debts positively and the family will eventually resolve their bad affinities. Can it be explained this way from the point of cause and effect?
Master Lu: Right, the parents owed the children, instead of seeking repayments from the parents, the children treat the parents very well, isn’t this rendering good for evil? Eventually in the next rebirth, there will be no more affinity between the child and the mother. (Understand. However, with added recitation of the heart sutra and jie jie zhou, it will speedily eliminate the bad affinities?) Absolutely correct!

My deepest gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to Master Lu, and to Dharma Protectors!
I was first exposed to Guan Yin Citta in February 2012. Since I have been very interested in Buddhism before and known about Buddhist scriptures, it wasn’t hard for me to practice Buddhism. I believe that Guan Yin Bodhisattva leads me to the right path and to the right Buddhist Master – Master Lu!
I had been having gynaecological diseases and I experienced amenorrhea in my twenties. I haven’t got married at the time and my parents were very worried about me. I couldn’t help feeling stressed. I had to keep taking medication to maintain regular menstruation cycles. After I started practising Guan Yin Citta, I persisted in performing daily recitation of scriptures (the Great Compassionate Mantra and the Heart Sutra for 49 times, the 88 Buddhas Great Repentance for 3 times and other mantras). When I offered the first incense on the day of Chinese New Year in 2013, I knelt down in front of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and made a vow to perform life liberation and to introduce Buddhism to more people. I also prayed to Guan Yin Bodhisattva for having normal menstruation. After I put my words into practice, my period came the next month. Nothing could express how excited and grateful I was. My period comes regularly from then on. Guan Yin Bodhisattva is so merciful that she responded to our requests. I would also like to extend my gratitude towards Master Lu, who propagates Buddhism relentlessly so that such a wonderful Dharma Door could be introduced to us.
Additionally, my limbs were cold when winter came. At the time, my housemate told me that my hands were much colder compared to the others. You could imagine how much I suffered due to my cold limbs in winter. However, after I started reciting scriptures, performing life liberation and making vows, my limbs stay warm in winter, and I even hold my husband’s hands to give him warmth. I understand that I have become healthier as a result of reciting scriptures and offering Little Houses to reduce my karmic debts. Guan Yin Citta could help us to solve our life and health problems and psychological issues provided that we practise it sincerely and persistently. I would like to see more and more people benefit from Guan Yin Citta. Again, my deepest gratitude to Master Lu and to the staff members at Master Lu’s office.

WORDS OF WISDOM
By Master Jun Hong Lu

[emoji92]DO NOT BE
"HANDICAPPED" BY
YOUR HEART[emoji92]
In reality, many of us are by no means “handicapped”. However, our hearts are indeed so. When asked to perform recitation of scriptures, many complained,
“I am not able to rise in
the morning, I can’t do it”.
“I am very tired”.
“I have no time.
Even if you have the healthiest body now, you may still be encountering various life obstacles and challenges in this human realm. When such moments of downcast occur, that is when you will slowly start to feel dejected. It is your lack of faith, courage, and single-mindedness that make you disheartened and not able to start anew.
A Buddhist cultivator should not wallow himself in self-pity. Be strict to yourself when it comes to observing the precepts and repenting; reflect on what had caused our life’s troubles. Only then you will not be trapped by your faint heart.
