ISDN has gone into a JV to provide disinfectant solutions

https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/ISDN-PR-J...eID=609500

Looks pretty interesting on what they are doing, but is it gimmick or really feasible?

The product Waterliq is apparently made of water only! (According to their website) Wonder how that works.

"ISDN is also creating a B2C market segment through social media and e-commerce platform in the region"

I wonder if such new initiatives are as a result of Novo Tellus "value-add" or simply ISDN existing mgmt. I feel this area is somewhat closer to their core business of automation than going into buliding hydropower plants.

Separately, there seem to be some form of joint initiatives already ongoing btw Novo and ISDN as mentioned in the AR 2019 :

"Business Transformation

We believe that these complex times favour companies with experience, diversification, and agility. To extend that advantage, in 2019, we embarked on a business transformation strategy with seasoned technology-focused Southeast Asian private equity investor Novo Tellus Capital Partners (“Novo Tellus”) to launch major initiatives targeted at improving operating efficiency, upgrading operating capabilities, and moving up the value chain"

This is a very interesting use case.

1) the disinfectant WaterLiq is purportedly made mostly of water (According to the Safety Data Sheet, its 99.5% distilled water. The remaining being, chlorine, hypochlorous acid, sodium hypochlorite and sodium chloride). Most of the remaining contents looks familiar in our everyday life.

2) Is this going to be the norm with the ongoing Covid-19? Imagine all public transport fitted with the humidifiers and coated with Erstotizer. Is that the new standard to be adopted?

3) Would factories and offices adopt such practices as well as a form of control in a bid to reopen?

4) Would malls install such devices to reassure shoppers to return?

The actual effectiveness is still to be determined from real life application. However, every country is working towards reopening their economies with a second lockdown being deemed "not an option". This might be something that everyone has to adopt as a practice even before seeing the effectiveness a few weeks down the road.

I wonder :
- who are the competitiors of ERST Project GmbH
- whether the ERST solutions are competitive in terms of pricing
- does ISDN have the first mover advantage in this type of offering (I think I had seen some videos where workers in some cities sanitize the city by mass spraying some solutions along the roads)

I think it cld be even better if the ISDN's JV had involved a govt agency and used the solutions in all the dorms. Even if it may not bring in meaningful profit, it wld raise the profile of the new ISDN offering.

On a separate note, I wonder if ISDN(motion control) has ever considered partnering with SESTO(solutions provider of Autonomous Mobile Robot technology) before, SESTO has introduced a dual-function Autonomous Mobile Disinfectant Robot.  ( https://www.sestorobotics.com/products/s...althguard/ )

AGV UV Robots are under servo https://www.servo.com.sg/news-event/youi...-two-weeks.

ISDN forms  a JV with ERST for AP, hence they have exclusive distribution rights for the whole of Asia. They also have an existing large customer base, 10000+ of them, and growing. They will definitely tap on them.

The products waterliq/erstotizer product is non toxic, non hazardous and 100% safe. It would be good if their products are listed under NEA..think they should approach NEA for listing.

ISDN Business Updates for the 4months ended April 30:

- In mid-March, ISDN was able to resume its PRC operations and the Group has subsequently seen a surge in orders amounting to approximately S$95 million year-to-date (YTD).

- ISDN has already secure two commercial deployments of its disinfectant products. Singapore’s major dormitory provider Centurion Corporation, will be using the products to keep Centurion’s dormitories virus-free; and First Sight International Pte Ltd (“First Sight”) will be using the products to enhance disinfecting capabilities at First Sight-designed educational institutions.

They have seemed to start installing disinfecting gantries and humidifiers in offices. Looks like their reach geographically would help in the distribution.
