Look like it worth more than 50 cents. With nav 30 cents , market already value it at 25 cents. If nav reach 60 cents , it sshould x 2 the valuation. Despite full cash been reinvested into new farm, revenue will x2 as well. Therefore, both holdings cash or reinvestment should have x2 valuation effect.

If management is willing to discontinue all operations, there will be a final puff on the cigar butt. But sadly they are going to pump in more money into the new farm. Shareholders should not expect any special dividend.

Sadly, this is what i consider pumping good money into mediocre business

Thats the reality of farming on leased land. All kranji farmers are facing huge relocating costs.
Its a huge amount. Might as well use the funds to setup a farm on a Swissco fire sale oil rig platform and permanently park it off kranji waters. Can go multi storey n relocate at llower cost if the need arises.

Shareholders' value aside, the money that is pumped into local egg industry has generated 26% of the total no. of eggs consumed in Singapore.
It might not be a worthwhile investment for shareholders based on investment's return but, the company has generated values for the society and country.

I certainly will not hope that it will discontinue its operation. The company should go on, innovate further and hopefully one day, Singapore is able to self sustain on egg consumption with local production.

This seems pretty weird that the company legal and sponsor missed this out as even a legal novice like me knows that even if DCS is approved (i put it as a 65% probability it will be approved), it will not be open to existing listed participants as this clause is already included in the existing clause.

SGX does not need to woo existing customers with DCS. It need it to aid in wooing new ones.

Chew's Group makes U-turn on plan to allow dual-class shares

SINGAPORE - Publicly listed companies in Singapore have yet to be given clearance to issue dual-class shares (DCS), but one listed entity appeared to have jumped the gun by moving to give itself the right to issue shares with different voting rights. The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has stepped in with a reminder that DCS have not been given the greenlight, and that a public consultation on the subject may be held soon.
Catalist-listed Chew's Group, one of Singapore's leading producers of fresh eggs, has thus had to send out a corrigendum to its shareholders' circular, which had proposed a change to its constitution that would have enabled the company to issue DCS.

any thoughts on this unit?
NAV around 60cents, dividend yield 1%, cash more than current stock capitalization.

with regards to the cash portion, might be good to read back a few posts to see whether "cash more than market cap" is still something significant?

What a "coincidence" that there was a surge in price and volume last Friday. Hope SGX looks into the trades to see whether there was anything fishy in order to ensure a level playing field.
