Who own VB? if someone offers to buy VB, who get the $$$?

Who own VB ? The admin owns VB.
If someone offers to buy VB, who get the $$$ ? The admin, the moderators and ex moderators, and members with postings.
Who would like to buy VB ? I think no one with sound business sense will.
How much will it be sold ? Above 1 million USD.

If you combine ignorance with greed, you'll get "interesting" results.

SPH is ignorant and greedy (desperate) enough? Smile Got synergy since so many SPH "people" reading this forum Big Grin

Users = Members + Guests. Guests can be human or bots.

That's what I thought Smile Thanks... 300 members were online today is better indication IMHO

cyclone has not clarified whether it is (1) equally shared by all with posts, (2) divided according to reputation, (3) divided according to no. of posts..or a complicated formula of (1)/(2)/(3)... Big Grin

IMHO, i would like to humbly offer VB forum as a potential purchase target for all the various local brokerages. Besides releasing brokerage reports, they can also stealthily do their stock promotion through social media like forums for a start.

I noticed that the VB has achieved a record today, with max 1131 users online, and with more than 800 users online up-to-minute now.

So far the forum accessibility remains normal, and I assume it is just an abnormal day, but in order.

Cyclone, any idea on the sudden rise of users online? Any buddies observe any other abnormalities?

Thank

noob question: users include Guests??

No beer content, No Access to streaming cable or satellite television in the policy, etc, etc.

Can consider is there a need to list down Adsense Policy, something like the Posting Guidelines?

I do not post at "Advertise Here" section but I do not want a forummer to post offending post (intentional or unintentional) which cut off our Ads income and affect the financial viability of this forum.

Just guessing, maybe someone tip off Adsense on the offending thread (which has since been deleted) or Adsense has bots to check (which explain the high number of online users?)

The accessibility of VB seems normal, during the peak. I reckon the peak might be triggered by the "Google Adsense Policy" which had done a scan on our VB threads, with bots

Anyway, false alarm. My apologies.

1. The most users online at one time was 1,131 on Today at 10:43 AM.
I think those are not real humans, it must be bots http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_bot
There's also a possibility of DDOS (Distributed DOS) attack.

The malicious bots are of the following types:
a. Spambots that harvest email addresses from contact or guestbook pages
b. Downloader programs that suck bandwidth by downloading entire web sites
c. Web site scrapers that grab the content of web sites and re-use it without permission on automatically generated doorway pages
d. Viruses and worms
e. DDoS attacks
f. Botnets / zombie computers; etc.

2. As you all may notice, some ads are not available. Those ads are suspended by Google.

I see many ads are gone now. How much is the $ loss due to this violation?

Not much, but enough to pay monthly hosting fee, fee for programmers to add more functionalities and debugging occasionally, etc, etc. VB will keep going.

I just feel 'BUAY KUM GUAN' if they really disable the adsense account. I have strived to comply with the 'adsense program guidelines'.
The violation was done by a new member who abused the thread on "Advertise Here" to promote his website. I have deleted the thread upon receiving the email from Google Adsense Team.

Adsense Program Policies :
