I noticed that the VB has achieved a record today, with max 1131 users online, and with more than 800 users online up-to-minute now.

So far the forum accessibility remains normal, and I assume it is just an abnormal day, but in order.

Cyclone, any idea on the sudden rise of users online? Any buddies observe any other abnormalities?

Yes, today is a special day.

1. The most users online at one time was 1,131 on Today at 10:43 AM.
I think those are not real humans, it must be bots http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_bot
There's also a possibility of DDOS (Distributed DOS) attack.

The malicious bots are of the following types:
a. Spambots that harvest email addresses from contact or guestbook pages
b. Downloader programs that suck bandwidth by downloading entire web sites
c. Web site scrapers that grab the content of web sites and re-use it without permission on automatically generated doorway pages
d. Viruses and worms
e. DDoS attacks
f. Botnets / zombie computers; etc.

2. As you all may notice, some ads are not available. Those ads are suspended by Google.
A forummer has posted a thread on "Advertise Here" section which has violated Google Adsense Policy. I have deleted the thread and appealed to Google Adsense. Not sure what the result is.

No beer content, No Access to streaming cable or satellite television in the policy, etc, etc.

If someone offers to buy VB, who get the $$$ ? The admin, the moderators and ex moderators, and members with postings.
Who would like to buy VB ? I think no one with sound business sense will.
How much will it be sold ? Above 1 million USD.

Users = Members + Guests. Guests can be human or bots.
