Agreed. The crisis are different and so is the individual investor after his experience of the previous crisis.
I subscribe to George Soros theory of "Reflexivity" i.e. the circular relationships between cause and effect. The investor makes the investment and the investment makes the investor. 1987 made me "relatively" immune to volatility (20%+ loss over one weekend), 1997 turned me off investing overseas (because of CLOB) and using leverage (almost died with margin calls), 2008 made me value dividends more (liquidity / cashflow crises) etc.

during the 08/09 crisis, i treated monies as just a figure..
we are much more alive than the smelly monies..

what i did was i went overseas trips and enjoyed the flowers, while keeping averaging down

rem bought htl at 1.3+ averaging down to 0.075+ and sold everything off at about 0.3+ to make a handsome yet risky profit

enjoy the crisis..crisis strengthen our destiny and character

What did J. F. Kennedy said about Crisis in Chinese?
https://www.google.com.sg/search?q=crisi...UoAQ&dpr=1

Even an ANG MOH can, how come we Chinese can not comprehend Chinese(so much & deep psychology in the writing)?

Is that why who can comprehend almost always welcome "CRISIS"
Do i sound like a "Sadist" or someone worse - "The terrorist"?
Which occupations suit people like me best?
i think none suitable except in a CRISIS situation?
Ha! Ha!
Who is kidding who?
Go and ask J. F. Kennedy.
i have just read him.
Shalom.

Just a quick update on my portfolio, added penguin this week @ 0.215. If others are wondering how do I manage to accumulate Penguin stocks despite the long queue- I used a "good to date" order which enables my order to be queued faster than normal orders. This service is offered by many brokerages, except Stan Chart, at no extra charge.

I have sold off TTJ and KSH, channeling it to Penguin, to prepare for its imminent FY results which hopefully does not spring any surprises. With SFIG and Penguin due to report full year results, i hope to hear from Penguin a special dividend because I forsee minimal Capex expenditure for its business next Fy. While for SFIG, an update of its intention to list or not list Garden Fresh will be an important indicator. For me, I hope to hear the good news of its listing process being underway; given that the Hang Seng is re hitting its peaks and there is a tinge of market exuberance among HK and China Investors. This imo is one of the best time to "dump" garden fresh to retail investors at moderate P/E.

KSH Q3 result was largely within expectation, given that many of its associate condo projects are nearing TOP which explains the rise in quarterly results. I believe market participants knew about this and therefore, no drastic price action was seen. As Fischer does a bi annual report, there is nothing to report on them

Penguin '" 0.22 (61.3%)
KSH '' 0.515 (17.4%)
Fischer''' 0.174 (6.0%)
SFIG'' 0.43 (15.3%)

Well, The same view again. A weight-age of more than 50% on a single stock, doesn't seem a good idea to me.

Over-focus on near term catalyst on stock selection, might distort your decision, and miss the multi-baggers. We will never know the star, and it always the one least expected.

Anyway, my best wish, since I am also vested in Penguin. Tongue
