1. Maybe you can ask "What are the top 10 best businesses well managed by the management?"
2. Pick the top 10, then u force yourself to discard the rest.
And every time you want to add to the list, you ask, are they better than the top 10?
Not easy, but u will enjoy the fruits at the end of the journey.

I forget where I read it. They have a strategy to maintain only best 35 ideas. Every time they want to add one to the list, they have to remove one from the list.

There were some changes in the portofolio. Last month, I divested MFS Technology and the proceeds was used to buy GP Industries. At above 18 cents, MFS Technology should be near it's fair value. The holding period was about 2 month, it was like getting a 4D Starter Prize.
As at today, the holdings are :
1. AZTECH GROUP
2. CH OFFSHORE
3. CHUAN HUP HOLDINGS
4. CHINA MERCHANTS HOLDINGS (PACIFIC)
5. DYNA-MAC HOLDINGS
6. ELEC & ELTEK
7. ENGRO CORPORATION
8. ENVICTUS INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS
9. FALcon ENERGY GROUP
10. FRASERS CENTREPOINT LIMITED
11. FORTERRA TRUST
12. GLOBAL INVESTMENTS LIMITED
13. GP INDUSTRIES
14. HOTEL GRAND CENTRAL
15. HOTUNG INVESTMENT HOLDINGS
16. IFS CAPITAL
17. KARIN TECHNOLOGY HLDGS
18. KEPPEL T&T
19. LOW KENG HUAT (SINGAPORE)
20. LUXKING GROUP HOLDINGS
21. METRO HOLDINGS
22. MICRO-MECHANICS (HOLDINGS)
23. NERATELECOMMUNICATIONS
24. NEW TOYO
25. PCI
26. PEC
27. SAN TEH
28. SIA ENGINEERING
29. SINGAPORE REINSURANCE CORPORATION

Hi Cyclone, could you give a rough idea of your XIRR for the portfolio?
Disclaimer :-
I am not an investment professional.
I encourage you to do your own independent "due diligence" on any idea that I write about, because I could be and probably am wrong.
Nothing written here is an invitation to buy or sell any particular stock.
At most, I am handing out an educated guess as to what the markets may do.
The market will always find a new way to make a fool out of me (and maybe, even you!).
Even the best strategies of the past fail, sometimes spectacularly, when you least expect it.
I am not immune to that, so please understand that any past success of mine will probably be followed by failures

Hi Shrivathsa,
I do not use XIRR to compute the return, instead I use NAV per unit method.
I try to compute at the end of each month if I'm free.
NAV per unit at the beginning of CY2014 was 1.297122.
NAV per unit at 2014/08/31 was 1.288124.
So it was still underwater.
There were some distributions during the period. All dividends received were plowed back into the "fund".
If we excluded the distributions, NAV per unit would be 1.432362.

NAV is lower with dividend included, and higher with dividend excluded? It means all dividends were re-invested at higher price, and remain "underwater", right?
