Portfolio update for the month of February 2015.

Over the past few years, by and large, buying deep discount to book value has served me well. Hence the portfolio comprised most with low P/B counters.
Now I'd like to include more companies with long history of mid teen ROE or above, low debt, that can be bought with P/E not more than 20.
To deviate from what seems to be working well is not a good move. But you'll never know if you do not try, and along the way, learn and mend.

In the month of February 2015, I sold Chuan Hup, Frencken, Metro Holdings, Singapore Shipping Corporation, Singapura Finance, and exchanged them with Hwa Hong Corporation, CSE Global, Neratelecommunications, Overseas Education Limited.

As at 28 February 2015, the portfolio consists of the following counters :
1. AZTECH GROUP
2. CFM HOLDINGS
3. CHINA MERCHANTS HOLDINGS (PACIFIC)
4. CSE GLOBAL
5. ELEC & ELTEK
6. ENVICTUS INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS
7. FRASERS CENTREPOINT LIMITED
8. G.K. GOH
9. GLOBAL INVESTMENTS LIMITED
10. HOTEL GRAND CENTRAL
11. HOTUNG INVESTMENT HOLDINGS
12. HUPSTEEL
13. HWA HONG CORPORATION
14. IFS CAPITAL
15. KARIN TECHNOLOGY HLDGS
16. KEPPEL T&T
17. LOW KENG HUAT (SINGAPORE)
18. LUXKING GROUP HOLDINGS
19. MICRO-MECHANICS (HOLDINGS)
20. NERATELECOMMUNICATIONS
21. NEW TOYO
22. OVERSEAS EDUCATION LIMITED
23. PCI
24. PEC
25. SAN TEH
26. SIA ENGINEERING
27. SINGAPORE REINSURANCE CORPORATION
28. St****** CORPORATION
29. TAI SIN ELECTRIC

In this occasion, I'd like to remind myself of Asset, Business, Structure model. Any idea should be analyzed within this model.
As a whole, the portfolio performs satisfactorily.

Portfolio update for the month of December 2015

STI at the beginning of year 3365.15 ends the year at 2882.73.

As usual, cash is minimal. All dividends received have been reinvested back or distributed.

Portfolio as at 31 December 2015 :
1. CHINA MINZHONG FOOD CORPORATION
2. ELEC & ELTEK (US$)
3. ENVICTUS INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS
4. FRASERS CENTREPOINT LIMITED
5. FRENCKEN GROUP
6. GP INDUSTRIES
7. IPC CORPORATION
8. KARIN TECHNOLOGY HOLDINGS
9. LUXKING GROUP HOLDINGS
10. M1
11. NEW TOYO
12. PCI
13. PEC
14. POWERMATIC DATA SYSTEMS
15. SAN TEH
16. St****** CORPORATION
17. WILLAS-ARRAY ELECTRONICS

HONG KONG LISTED COMPANIES :
1. HARBOUR CENTRE DEVELOPMENT
2. ITC CORPORATION
3. NEW WORLD DEVELOPMENT COMPANY

I usually keep around 30+ stocks in the portfolio. As I made an outsize bet on IPC Corporation, the number of stocks is much reduced now.

A reminder :
- Picking a stock based on it's book value alone can be very misleading.
- Do not forget Asset, Business, Structure framework.
- Learn, learn and learn.

Target : back to around 30+ stocks in 2016.

Happy new year 2016.

Cyclone, you ended the year without a single STI Component stock ! Just an observation, not saying there is anything wrong with that.

Concentrated strategy is temporary only. I still prefer wide diversification, around 30+.

The price of some STI component stocks has been downed a lot. Probably it is good to take a closer look in 2016.
