super bull indeed.
those who started/starting to invest 5 years ago will feel like striking GOLD.
Reading the newspaper for the past 2 weeks shows that the -ve news had diminished and more +ve news is in the making.
While the iron is still hot, hit it! ζιθΆη - I reminded myself.

Sometimes investors scared themselves by looking too much at stock indices. From my experience, indices watching is bad for value investing.
Personally, I don't even know what the stock indices are at now. I draw a blank look when people talk to me about STI or Dow.

How do you do that?
Never read newspaper or never pay attention to it?

Never look at it. Never look at indices even though it is at the top of the online trading watch list.
Made too many mistakes being influenced by indices watching. It screwed up my mind esp in times of stress.

sorry to hear that.
luckily I don't have the problem.
when my mind see something, it always treat it like raw data or sometime just noises.
I'm also a believer of 2nd level thinking.
when i process the raw data, I usually see what's the impact/actions what other people will take when they see these information.
I'll then follow what most people will do or play contrarian by going against the flow - based on my instinct.
I also pay special attentions to who wrote/provide the piece of information - again, part of my instinct.
It's friday again.
Wish you a happy weekend ahead.

I didn't even know Blumont was a hot stock until a thread was created here.
I seldom look the indices or the top 20 volume.

it's a me-too answer.
I don't pay much attentions to hot stocks and most of the time I read/discover it in vb.com too.
However, I got one doctrine:
Never buy after reading news from Forum (including VB.com lar).
This doctrine has make me loss a lot of opportunities but at the same time save me a lots of sleepness night.
Like opmi says, screw up the mind.
So, I read these "tips" as a hobby and then chuck them away.
Then, few weeks/month later, I'll re-visit these tips and see how event unfolded.
And, then my instinct will takes its toll.
So, I benefited a lot from vb.com this way.
Gratitude. Thank you very much to you, YEO too I enjoy your posts.

On the contrary, i look at STI and US DOW, S&G 500 other asia indexes and what is happening in SINGAPORE and the world news, everyday. i just like to know what is going on. i rarely trade. No good at short term trading.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.
