given the 不求有功,只求无过 attitude of the civil service, it is quite impossible to think the TTSH Mgt and Board will score points with the dismissal. Sticking out neck without justification is career suicide. Easy path for self-preservation is do nothing. Unless the dismissal has damn good justifications.

However what I am shocked is this statement: In particular, they cannot defame someone else without basis, which essentially means knowingly stating a falsehood to the public," it stated.
AFAIK the court haven't decided on the merit of the case. This kind of statement brings back old memories. Though like i posted i think Roy deserve it, but one should be presumed legally innocent until proven guilty. TTSH basically 画蛇添足 putting its own self in a spot if Roy has the capacity to sue on wrongful dismissal on wrongful presumption

All these not doing any good to papies.
A bad PR job for them with the suing.
Hehe, think for Roy, he can join a political party and made politics his career.
Blacklisted and some say ISD may come a calling.
But I dun think so. He will be made a bankrupt and struggle a thru life.
But he is a martyr as far as I am concern.
We should have more people like him who dare tp speak and shout out.

To me, he is NOT a martyr. He is someone who dont know how to cut loss
OR gone beyond logic. I wont vote for this kind.
I prefer people who walk their talk. Execute their proposals and show results. OK if failed. Political bloggers are mostly NATO.

The PAP has been trying to win hearts with the goodies for the pioneer generation. That is kinda 'secured' vote bank with people from the older generation grateful for what PAP has done. With the CPF fiasco, kinda offset the goodwill with the pioneer generation for many are unhappy with the minimum sum and etc....
The Roy case will also makes the PAP looks bad with the younger generation. With election due 2016, time is running out.....

but if he is bankrupted how can he be eligible to run for any elections? it would be a wasted life and not amount to anything. In the end they will just make him into an example and nobody after that will dare to follow like him and that's playing by their rules already like what happen to csj.
If he is good he should be patient and learn how to restrain himself and also preempt this kind of move by them because the only way it will matter is to run for election and try to win a seat.
even you see csj has quieten down or restrain himself for many year alrdy.

play smartly. My opinion of JBJ, CSJ careers - confrontational politics dont work in SG. Not when the ruling party is dominant.
Roy only self-sabo by upping the stakes by fighting publicly. It should be seen that he is fighting for himself. not for the truth or justice.

All this noise about Roy dismissal from TTHS is us guessing based on the selected words used by TTSH for explaining their dismissal.
I would be very surprised if they did not follow the standard HR protocol and vet it with their legal team before "sacking" and releasing a press statement.
Its the norm in MNCs' & govt entities.

Yes agree with both. But all the more means someone very high has approved it and it adds to the conspiracy theory
The other interesting observation as pointed out below is why TTSH have to issue a statement to pre-empt questions on firing a particular employee? Since when companies do that except for high level management changes

I would think it makes more sense to issue a statement after Roy make noise.越描越黑 basically like I said 画蛇添足 or someone trying to geh kiang to score points

I think whichever way they do it, there will be speculation. The method they chose seems to be the better one comparatively.
If they chose to fire and keep quiet until the bloggers release the news, it would come across as TTSH is in collusion the Govt and that the Govt is doing underhanded things behind the back.
This will start another fire, the current method stops the fire before it even starts.
