As of the topic, just out of curiosity, how do you like to read your books? To be more specific, how do you like to 'read/study/learn' when you're reading a book about investments?

Do you take down notes, highlight important points of the book or would you read the book a few times etc.

For me, I like to have my laptop beside me so that i can take down notes on my laptop as I read.

Do you mean you copy some parts of the books to make notes off?

Every book i read i look for ideas or "experiences". If i found some suitable or to my liking, i will save them in my "Books for Investment" folder.
i am also looking for ideas and experiences in this forum too.
Thank you all the kind souls who are willing to share, sincerely and honestly. It has make me opens out to the "World" while sitting in front of my desktop.
Shalom.

From a book, i have learnt WB in 1999 lost 19% in value of his portfolio while S & P 500 gained more then 19 % in value.
So will this knowledge strike you inside some where?
What do you think of your own investment journey?
That's why i keep on reading.
Knowledge and others' experiences will or may change your outlook of the Investment World. Hopefully to a better and better person.
Keep on reading and looking for ideas and experiences.
i will, always.

2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

T and Brendon,
I am a heavy reader too.
I read quickly (because >50% is something we already know aka no need to digest).
I have a stack of post-it-pad which act as bookmark for those interesting pages.
When I am in my desk, then I will key into my computer (ppt, xls or doc depends on the type of materials)
If there is something extremely interesting, I will pause my reading, digest and key into my handphone immediately.

Of course, my computer and handphone are sync using Cloud.

Sidetrack a bit, for internet stuff, some time I will print and save a copy.
And, don't talk about newspaper, I will cut and paste into a notebook(normal one lar).

This is me.
What about the rest?
