Interestingly, China New Town has also been halted for 3 days. Something related?? Hmm...

Omg did China New Town like extend the trading halt too?
Please dont scare me... Hmmm maybe they are going to collaborate on a new project, perhaps in Kunming? If they are going to start a large joint venture, Kingsmen might need more funds?
Kingsmen's founders used to be architects right?

I love the China New Town website: http://www.china-newtown.com/
cant see anything at all. But the stock doubled in 3 months. Didnt know SGX has other China property stocks other than Yanlord, Yuexiu and Ying Li.

China New Town's trading halt is about inside information. I think we are all scaring ourselves too much. Let us just be patient and wait.

Hopefully I'll prove to have been a lucky charm. I only initiated a position last week! A buy out would be nice, but I wouldn't be happy with any less than $1.20. Hopefully time will tell soon.

Is it normal for trading to be halted for so many days?

It is abnormal. But the Company did ask for an extension to the halt yesterday. I would assume it applies to just one extra day (i.e. today). Not sure if it extends to tomorrow assuming the announcement is (still) not out!

Quote: SGX rulebook 8.11.4 A trading halt may be imposed for up to 3 Market Days or such other short extension as SGX-ST agrees.

Since 3 Market Days is deemed to be short enough for a usual trading halt, this current extension may last for as long as another 'short' 3 days extension. I reckon the folks will be working overtime this weekend if the terms are still being trashed out and we should have an answer latest by Monday.

Company mentioned in its request for extension that it needed more time to finalise the announcement. So hopefully it will not be long now.
