AGM or Annual General Makan ?

Just eat before going would solve all these food related disagreements.

Or the agm can start with makan first then start the meeting.
Then one can tell if they are there for the meeting or food. Haha.

Actually is it even necessary to give out free makan? If companies replace that with a door gift, or gift vouchers, that would surely weed out all the gian png aunties/uncles purely there for makan.

How about only allowing those with a substantial amount of holdings to attend? (I'm not saying SSH).
Heard some people holding a few lots in each counter and attending all of them for makan..
Of course in practice it will be difficult to implement and will probably look bad for the company for looking down on the poor people.
But so far my experience at agm all quite good. Mostly Paisey to take more..

Less people in this forum think that only the old uncles and old aunties behave like National sprinters in buffet style makan session, please put on your thinking caps. Don't be so "straight jackets' hoh!

Some of us are like that since...... there are buffet style makan sessions.

Sorry if you think i am bias, but so are you.
From very young, i never like to join any makan session rushing for food.
If i happen to be present, i just let it passes over.

Please don't ever think only old folks are like that.

End of day companies are not obligated to provide makan. Those that value makan more than discussion with management get their worth. Everyone gets what they value.

i have this idiosyncrasy about food. i don't have the appetite or the enjoyment to eat if people rush for food, in any kind of makan's setting. That's why i dislike attending buffet. i will avoid if possible.
The funny thing for me is after all these 25 to 26 years of investing in stocks, i have yet to attend a company's AGM. (Don't ask me how i survive in the market.)

I had attended a few AGMs.

Challenger offering a small buffet for the shareholders;

Raffles Medical giving out $10 CapitaMall vouchers so that shareholders can choose their desired food across the road at Bugis Junction;

The few REITs I attended were giving out lunchboxes.
