is not really about blue collar white collar, rather I see it as using it as a catalyst to build up that area they been wanting to do that for years and this is that opportunity.

You look at the example of marina they built all the jewel of attractions, garden by the bay, ir, flyer everything build up first then last came the shipping cruise center bring all the rich people here to play.

you have all forgotten the way miw works is to always like to prepare the ground first before move in troops.

recently you see all these big projects in west side jurong there now spring up so many malls shopping hospital, new homes, you must also ask the question who is going take up all these excess capacity?

Any possibility that the high speed rail and terminal be run by SMRT or SBS Transit? Or SATS running the terminal?
The toughest thing to do is have to wait for the opportunity patiently.

Too early to tell, although my guess is the consortium who builds the line gets to operate and run the terminals much like a concession.

Personally, my view is JE is the more likely choice. While Tuas is more of a brownfield type development, it is also constrained by the factories. Yes, I know the government can wave the magic wand and re-gazette the entire area, but Tuas had been IDed as our industry heartland for the longest time and there simply isn't an easy alternative, unlike the early years when factories shifted from Kallang to Tuas.

The question to ask is the inclusion of the "city" as one of the choice. If the intention was just merely as a transport hub, this choice does not even make the cut and we should have been left with the border options. To me, it seems to suggest a desired to connect to an existing living, community.

to fill up with admin officer or ROD generals.

JE is also a MRT interchange so it makes sense to have the terminal situation over here. It allows commuters easy access to the city or to the North.

Anyway I think the HSR benefits Malaysia more than Singapore. I presume we could look into Malaysia property counters with land banks around the HSR stops.

this highspeed rail is suppose to link to Thailand, then Vietnam or Cambodia?

if is not underground, nearby properties may suffer noise, value drop

Probably eventually link europe to south-east asia each country will individually build their link probably be done in phases.

I doubt it will connect to existing mrt. One thing if this is an international railway they have to fix the standards from the beginning throughout the entire project the language, the systems the width of the rail the type of trains all must be standardize otherwise it will become a nightmare trying to support and manage the system. Imagine different countries use different systems and trying to fix a problem and engineers in cambodia or vietnam trying to communicate to engineers in china will be like chicken and duck talking to each other if there are no standards in place.

Another reason why I think it will be tuas is costs you need to connect the railway from msia to singapore, jurong is further away. Just imagine you have to build a separate railway link adjacent to smrt from jurong all the way to johor malaysia where is the land for it to build these tracks?
