Agree. To each their own. IMO, there is little value added for such posts. People take on risk based on their own (or failed) judgement. No point having a thread just to bet that a stock someone owned will go down.
Anyhow, one's investment capability is judged over a series of investment ideas.
They should be friends of those vested. They help them to find out more about the "unknown unknown" and "unknown known" risks. They might or might not able to help, but we should appreciate their effort, IMO

I agree with you completely. I think it is more value-add when there are concrete analysis being posted on these forum. We have seen many from other posts but it is rather distasteful when people talk down the stock.
Of course, this is inevitable once the forum gains more membership. Hopefully, it will be net beneficial.

Yes, I agree on the net beneficial statement.

In other words, it will not be net beneficial, if the forum is too "clean". Furthermore, the cleanliness depends on moderator, who might have different definition than majority of buddies here.
Having said so, I will still trying my best to clean-up the obvious "dirt".

I have been a shareholder since HSH days.Besides valuation of property worth, there is also the critical element of management being upfront and cordial with shareholders esp during AGM.Study the huge diff in renumeration package of top execs and you think that only 1 person is working!Try raising tough issues at our AGM and come to your own conclusion.Attend companies' AGM like Pan U and you will see the difference in how patient they are with shareholders of all levels and they are trading at almost 2x book.Their AGM are almost always full house despite holding it in Jurong and every table has a management rep/director to answer questions.Just my perception.

If the probability is low, say 10% would it be much wiser invested your $$ elsewhere if u can make
10% annual returns over those 3-5 years instead? If St****** is such a good value bet why cant anyone give a good answer to my above question?

I will try to answer with my limited knowledge:
1. whether it is a value trap or not, it is absolutely subjective to different person. A question that I counter-ask would be why do Felix think it is a value trap?
2. it depends on market condition and whether any potential buyers to make an offer to St******, a similar question if I were to raise will be when can Challenger realise its full NAV value in 3-5 years? Obviously value investing is not about to predict the future, and non of us here are a successful bomoh (i think)
3. to make reference to my answers to no. 1 and 2 above, this is very subjective and we are not predicting the future. What I would add is that if you do have a sure-win bet that can give at least 10% annual returns in 3-5 years time, please share in the forum.
I always respect members with high reputation as I view their comments are valuable. But I hope Felix could also address my points 1, 2 and 3 above.
In respect of whether other members have been spamming in the forum, I trust Moderator would do his job as I ever had a post been deleted before .
Thank you.

As the Group was not keen to sell, this unusual and onerous non-refundable deposit was demanded by the Group and acceded to by the Buyer. Parties were in discussions since the exclusivity ended on 7 March 2008 on the Buyer’s request for extension. However, the Group has declined to extend. The Group has since received approaches from other parties for the purchase of the Group’s hotel portfolio**
Boss Ow declined to extend and not potential buyer couldn't complete the deal.

I think one can only smell the money in 2017. imo after 2 false *wolf alarm* by Boss Ow to sell the hotels, how many still believe Boss Ow to sell the hotels again? I am the one that does not believe Boss Ow. Boss Ow who has already passed the baton to Junior Ow and business will be as usual for St******. If one prepares to put money into St******, one must prepare to hold many years.
