I hope I could help. Recently I was being introduced a critical illness plan at OCBC which insurer is Great Eastern. My wife scenario is to pay a sum of S$1,300 per year for 35 years, and at the end of the policy she will get back all the premium she paid. The coverage is S$100,000 but the insured person might received up to 160% of the insured sum if he/she is in the advance stage of the critical illness. I personally think that it is quite ok in the sense that you are saving for the future, even though losing on inflation. But take note that the minimum tenor is 15 years, and the entry age has to be 50 and below.
