I believe everyone here is happy to read postings that are more meaningful (to us) rather than the “huat huat†type we see at sites like CNA. Also understand about more work for the moderators if the current “majority†becomes overwhelmed by an influx of newcomers who spout general irrelevancies or fluff compared to slow drifts-ins that may adapt to this forum’s way.
On the other hand, (selfishly speaking too perhaps), I feel that there is room to add greater depth and width to the different stock discussions, if more like minded people of different expertise are welcomed to share their views. The potential is for everyone to benefit more from sharing, and the more that are able to share, the more everyone benefits learning from each other, from wiser ones, or by getting feedback (-ve or +ve) to our opinions. No-brainer? Pardon my elaboration.
Can depend on “evolution†to let new members find this forum even though it may not be easy to find. Based on my observation about new sign-up rates, it appears rather slow. Clearly too, this forum is still missing some old “wallstraits†forummers whose postings would be most welcome.
Agree with MW this is a niche segment as well. That said, there should be no need to worry about a huge influx as that would be always be a positive problem – at the extreme, Cyke can always just close the tap, haha. Expanding minimal effort to promote is unlikely to gain tremendous results anyway so I think the worry is misplaced.
Bottom line: the objective would be to make it easier for more similar value-investors to join and share for mutual learning, after all i believe that is why we came here in the first instance
