Best place to discuss abt Annual report analysis of a particular company?

Dear Valuebuddies,

I'd like to ask around if there is any particular section in this great forum that discusses analysis of annual report / financial performance of a particular company? I'm learning to analyze financials from value investing perspective and I thought it would be great to learn from and with all Valuebuddies here in this forum!

Beside the numbers, I find the following sections useful:

1) chairman and CEO statement, look backwards, how did their expansion plan or stragegy work out? Are they candid about future challenges? Or they drop time bombs time and time again?

2) remuneration, in particular, options scheme

3) footnotes, almost everything is useful, but I paid particular details to capital management, e.g. Loans, expiry etc

4) segment results

5) top 20 shareholders, I do not know who are the great funds, other buddies might shed some lights, but I like to see the top executives or owners owning a significant chunk. E.g. 50%

All these should be seem over a period of time and not alone .

Posts in the forum tend to be rather short (which is normal) since they tend to be replies. I guess what you are looking for are examples of how people dissect AR to find value. If so, there are 2 decent blogs with good detailed analysis/sleuthwork:

i think there are prob ard 10 detailed case-studies. After going thru these, you should be able to understand the different sections of the AR (income statement, balance sheets, cashflows, segmental info, accounting, share options etc.) You can then start to take any AR for any company you are interested in and start dissecting it to bits.

This is likely the best suggestion to the request. Both blogs gave quality analysis base on companies financial reports, thus a good source for learning. Coincidentally, both blog owners are our forum buddies.
