A new CEO is coming to town while the company announces FY16 results.
– As part of its leadership succession plan, ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited today announced that its Managing Director/Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Kua Hong Pak, is stepping down on 30 April 2017 after 14 years at the helm. He will be succeeded by Mr Yang Ban Seng, who is currently CEO of ComfortDelGro Taxis, on 1 May 2017.

COMFORTDELGRO TURNS IN FULL-YEAR REVENUE OF $4.06 BILLION
• Revenue fell by 1.3% to $4.06 billion
- Actual revenue increase of $72.4 million was eroded by a negative foreign currency translation effect of $124.4 million. If not for this, revenue would have increased by 1.8% to $4.18 billion.
• Operating costs decreased by 1.7% to $3.6 billion
- Operating costs actually increased by $48.4 million but this was fully compensated by a favourable foreign currency translation of $111.9 million.
- The actual increase in operating costs came mainly from staff costs, repairs and maintenance and depreciation.
• Operating profit increased by 2.6% to $462.2 million.
• Net profit attributable to shareholders increased by 5.0% to $317.1 million.
• EBITDA increased by 2.2% to $858.2 million.

yes. amazing co.
regarding the lowering of revenue and yet can get higher profit to pay shareholder dividend,
this one is based on simple maths:
Profit = Revenue - Cost
If Revenue drop, then lower cost aggressively will get higher profit.
From one of my senior manager Chua CS:
1. I have no control of the revenue.
2. But, I have 100% control of the cost.
3. If I did not make enough profit, then I'm directly responsible.
4. No excuse.
I will not blame the economy...
I will not blame the market cycle,...
I will not blame the sales team....
It is my fault.

ya lar... definitely not in the best business at this pt in time.
my thought?
1. it's a well run company and given a chance it will survive and find another grow-area
2. a lot of hear-says and too much worried caused it's share price to tanked (big time)
3. many time, when we buy stock at it's peak, it might go up.
4. equal time, when we buy stock at it's lowest, it might go down.
5. really needs a lot of guts and wisdom to invest when a good biz is selling at it's lowest

I actually disagree with the idea that he has no control of revenue for senior managers unless your manager is a cost centre manager. But even so, his ability to deliver value to the frontline also helps in revenue generation because clients see value in efficiencies
Revenue pulls in cost and sometimes cost increase in hope of higher revenue projections. It's again not one or the other
That's why there are extreme case of cost cutting that actually hurts revenue, which strategically makes no sense unless rationalising the business focus.

Agree.
The only reason why Singapore is so prosperous today
is definitely due to our culture to push for growth.
Without growth, we will reach a mature stage and
then ultimately unavoidable decay stage.
I really hope that everyone can chip in and
help to re-energies SGP for higher growth.
I personally will be very glad to be part of nation building team 2.0
contributing directly to our longer term strategy.
Back to the story.
There could be many factors affecting the top line.
Especially when the tidal wave turn,
even the best company in the world will take the hit.
The message is simple:
If we are not likely to meet our revenue target,
then we must try harder to meet our commitment on the bottom line.
