China exports rebound 5.6% year-on-year
BEIJING — China’s exports rose 5.6 per cent in October from a year earlier, while imports rose 7.6 per cent, leaving the country with a trade surplus of US$31.1 billion (S$38.7 billion) for the month, the Customs Administration said today (Nov 8).
That compared with market expectations in a Reuters poll of a 3.2 per cent rise in exports, an 8.5 per cent rise in imports and a trade surplus of US$23.90 billion.
Exports had posted a surprise fall in September. REUTERS
