Reading SGX announcements on a daily basis

Wanted to share with fellow valuebuddies a tool I built to read SGX announcements on a daily basis.

What it does:

Background:
I do event-driven value-investing, and generally read all the SGX announcements of the day to source for ideas. The SGX website is a pain to read, with lousy paginations, and having to click into a article to retrieve the PDF.

i find it useful if only announcements relating to the companies in my filter shows up.

@ opmi, yup, I was thinking of doing a filter whereby you could filter by "Keywords" in the title field for only certain items to show up. WIP!

@AlphaQuant I pay ShareInvestor station for this particular function, I find they are quite good at it!

I totally agree with your comments on the SGX website, and find the direct links helpful.

I open multiple files at one go for reading/saving later, it saves time and focuses my mind. It used to be possible on SGX itself (and is still how HKSE does it). Your tool vastly improves usability. Thank you.

Keyword filters would be a great enhancement. That would allow sorting by company, announcement type etc. And if the filter can understand modifiers like "-", AND, OR etc. that would be even better.

One "feature" the SGX website lost some time back was the ability to sort upcoming dividend announcements by company name. If your site can somehow do this it would be helpful also.

I'm happy with the tool as-is - can't complain about anything that is genuinely useful and free - so the above are suggestions only.

Bug report: Day 3 produces many days of reports. All the other days function correctly - I checked.

Shareinvestor is providing the service. It is showing all announcements of the stocks in your portfolio. It helped to me.

I think SGX can do much better on the presentation of many data. But they simply want to make almost everything proprietary (even the main gateway has a dynamic link suffix !!!), so that they can sell the content for money (and not place burden on their weak server). There are also many controversial issues arises from SGX mindset of maximizing its profits, regardless of its role as a trading and clearing regulation authority.

Really appreciate your effort to improve the announcement reading experience, and hope you will make it even better.

I use stockalert for announcement tracking of my watching list, but there is a limit of 20 tickers.

On the PC side, I use a German site :http://www.finanznachrichten.de/. With google translating, I manage to register and create a watching list, so that the site will send email containing daily links of announcement on my watching list. The link will lead to site like this one:

Great suggestion on the search field, it's something that's next on the list. It is however quite involved, and would require some significant work. WIP : )
