FINCANTIERI S.p.A. announces that, in relation to the voluntary conditional general offer launched on November 13, 2016 by its subsidiary Fincantieri Oil & Gas S.p.A. ("Fincantieri O&G") for all the ordinary shares of Vard Holdings Limited other than those already held by Fincantieri O&G, its related corporations and their respective nominees, the closing date is extended from 5.30 p.m. (Singapore time) on December 29, 2016 to 5.30 p.m. (Singapore time) on January 12, 2017.

Launch of The Proposed Voluntary Delisting of Vard
November 13, 2017.

Under the Exit Offer, Fincantieri O&G will offer the shareholders of Vard SGD 0.25 in cash for each Vard share tendered in acceptance of the Exit Offer, for a maximum consideration of SGD 60,943,572.50 (approx. EUR 38,500,000 at the current exchange rate) in case of full acceptance.

Fincantieri O&G currently holds 936,225,710 shares in Vard, equal to around 79.34 per cent. of Vard’s total issued share capital. The consolidated financial statements of the Fincantieri group has included Vard’s contributions since Fincantieri O&G’s 2013 acquisition of a majority stake in Vard.

GO cannot... now scare with delisting

IMHO Vard is good niche shipbuilder except for the Brazil shipyard which IIRC was shoved by STX. Brazil cost is second highest to Norway according to them. Go figure

Vard Holdings announced that it has secured contracts for the design and construction of two offshore fish farming operation platforms for Cermaq Norway.

The two platforms are specially designed for fish farming operations in harsh environment, and have a capacity for 600 tons of fish feed, as well as separate areas for storage, veterinary services, workshop and accommodation for a crew of eight people.

Vard Secures Contract for the Construction of One Fully Electrical Battery-Powered Car and Passenger Ferry

Vard Holdings Limited announced that it has secured a contract for the construction of one car- and passenger ferry for Boreal in Norway.

The new car and passenger ferry features a fully electrical battery solution for continuous electric operations, and is specially designed for environmentally friendly operations in the Norwegian fjords. The ferry, designed by Multi Maritime, will measure 74 meters in length with a beam of 14.20 meters, and will have a total capacity of up to 60 cars and 199 passengers and crew.
