Lost Election and can't find a job -> loser, see... only can find a job in government.
Lost election and find a good job -> also a loser, scare of losing face.
Lost election and hanging around -> super loser, not gracious.

Any other combo?

got. one more.

Did not get to stand for election. Then later charged in court.

Scholars are not born to be businessman. Get good pay and get job security.

Why not?

when the attitude is to 'tann jiat" (get a salary), something not right.

civil servant - must have a sense of public service. Like the US ones.

Don't believe it after so, so long why now? Is it Singaporeans Tak Boleh Tahan Liu or the GOV?
WB:-

1) Rule # 1, do not lose money.
2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

NB:-
My signature is meant for psychoing myself. No offence to anyone. i am trying not to lose money unnecessary anymore.

Wonder how will they enforce fairness among the SME bosses. After 14 days they can still choose to recruit a foreigner right? I think some bosses in MNCs w prefer to hire their own countrymen still. And they are very creative to go about beating rules and regulation.

they only say must advertise for sporean, never say must hire. They could interview sporean and in the end the reject on whatever grounds, how mom going to enforce? they going to review every single job application there could be thousands. This thing has no teeth, if they want to do this they should just have a quota system.

deep market mispricing.

The jobs are required to be posted on portals setup by MOM.
So, essentially, the MOM will have the statistics of recruitment.

I suppose it serves two purpose. First, the collected statistics will be used against the errant companies that always recruit foreigners despite having qualified locals applying for the jobs. Second, to show to Singaporeans that the job market is indeed tight and some job ads have few or no Singaporeans applying.

I found this scheme useful but too bad we still need to wait a bit longer for it to be implemented.

#1. Statistics will act as a feedback to the school so that we can train students based on the job market needs/wants.

#2. PMET will have a higher chance to get a job (provided salary less than 10k)

why need statistics when MOM knows and acknowledges that there are already errant companies out there doing such things, they will just find a way to get around it.

I feel MOM is just doing this as a minimum they just want to show they doing something to "cover themselves" for next election.

sgd,
I think slightly differently.
I think how people and society can benefits from this.

1. For your info, schools (esp higher learning) are desperately trying to stay relevant today in the google/internet era. They wanted to produce graduates that can be useful and contribute immediately to our society. I see that this job portal as a fantastic place for data mining.

2. PMET really has difficulties in getting a job in the last 2 years. Trust me! Having such a scheme will definitely make it easier to get a job.
