Amazon site selling 2nd hand books and "free" shipping to Singapore, please check on Amazon site for detail.
I didn't buy any 2nd hand books from there so far. You may want to give it a try.
I will move this thread to "Introductions and General Chat" which is more appropriate, please take note.

Not sure 2nd hand books qualify.
When I previously read the news about Amazon offering free shipping to Singapore, I was very excited and happy... But, after spending much time trying to figure out the conditions, I gave up...
Yahoo news extracts,
As long as shoppers in the country make a purchase of SGD$160 (USD$125) or over, they will be entitled to this free shipping under the site’s “Free AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping” program.
The free shipping is only provided to online shoppers purchasing goods sold directly by Amazon and not by their third party retailers.
The goods purchased must also be eligible for the AmazonGlobal program, which makes up a majority of the site’s product catalog, ranging from automotive products, electronics and jewelry to name a few.
However, shoppers need to make sure that the goods to be shipped do not exceed 20lbs. (9 kg) or they will not qualify for the free shipping service.

I have tried sourcing secondhand books online also, but the shipping costs seem to always wipe out the savings. In the end I figured either I get lucky on the occasional browse in a local secondhand store (some years ago I found Damn Right for $10, my best bargain ever), or I just borrow from the library until such time that I am willing to pay for a new book.
Amazon's free shipping to Singapore doesn't work for me either because buying enough books to get to US$125 puts the total weight over 20lbs. CDs would work, except that Amazon isn't price-competitive for the kinds of CDs I buy.

A quick Google, get this web site, in Singapore. I didn't dig in further on price and shipping cost, please explore further if interested.

2nd hand books on Amazon do not qualify because they are not fulfiled by Amazon.
For 2nd hands books, I will recommend valubuddies to try Abebooks.com . Their prices for new/used books are quite competitively priced.
After shipping fees, the books that i have purchased are still cheaper when bought in the local book store. The only downside is that the shipping time takes 2-4 weeks.
