What does reporting in time means? From what I understand, Penguin reports its quarterly or yearly report within the SGX stipulated timeline...You should be able to see it no later than 15 May 2015...

Is this about trust or lack of it? if yes, just divest it first and see what happens down the road?
Money in the pocket is safest! Smile

Otherwise, trust the management and enjoy the biz! down cycle already happening, so watch how the management reacts! Smile

We are afterall, small owners of the company too! Tongue
Don't think the management will risk their reputations running the biz down with Keppel/Temasek holding % of the company. Smile

Trust, yes! Must verify! Don't not TRUST BLINDLY... I just raised a simple question, why a small company like Penguin with one of the Big 4 as it auditor, could not get its quarterly report out in time like the giants Keppel and banks...

Lets talk about the issues ... I certainly do not need another forummer to tell me buy or sell.

I also need to scratch my head.... what big 4 auditor has to do with the quarterly unaudited result announcement?

If your investment analyst is based on how soon a financial results are to be announced, then I think you probably missed a lot of good stocks.

I'm also scratching my head... since when the quarterly results announcement is late? there's still a lot of time... Maybe the mgmt too busy selling ships overseas and didn't manage to clear some of the paper work to submit it to SGX. Blush

Surprised that the Flex Fighter is so popular.
Wonder if Indonesia will become another customer, since they are now more keen to police their fishing waters.

Key takeaway:
1. Crewboat enquiry out of Mexico - potential new market
2. More ferry enquiries since the delivery of the Ferry (Horizon) in 2014
3. Half of crewboat delivery in 2014 is Flex Fighter, main market Nigeria (Africa)
4. Recent out of court settlement is not that material, the 2 vessel already written down to scrap metal level, still trying to maximise value of its disposal.
5. Dec 2014 WIP relates to more than 10 vessel under construction.
6. 1st in crewboat with about 40% global market share. The balance shared by about 12 players.
7. Vessel construction - half with orders and half built for stock.
8. Management re-emphasize to focus more on business (than share price). That is do more, talk less.
9. First 100th Flex is still on target in June/July 2015.
10. Though 2015 vessel capacity is more than 50, does not mean to produce 50. However, currently, the Spore and Indonesia yards are at 90% utilisation.

Shareholder request
1. Review of Forex handling
2. Increase of dividend preferably 1/3 of profit, over 2 dividend payments annually

On the whole, management appeared optimistic.

Recalled from memory.

I don't think the question is a joke, but a very valid question. Quarterly reports don't required endorsement of public auditor.

I'm not in a hurry to view the Q1 result.

As long as it's within SGX's stipulated deadline, all's fine by me.

Whether Penguin releases their results early or late, fundamentals does not change for me.

I appreciate that you're raising the issues related to Penguin and will not discourage such sharing, but many (if not most) of the vested buddies here have already counter-emphasized that the issues you have with Penguin do not affect their own personal valuation of Penguin.

Like Mr. Moderator pointed out earlier, if the issues you have with Penguin are significantly a degradation to your valuation of the counter, the easiest thing to do is let your holdings go...

It seems Penguin is not the kind of counter you should be looking for, but for some reason, you ended up owning some shares. It could be due to the over-advertising some buddies here may be guilty of. A lesson to learn in your value-investing journey... Likewise, I'm also on a self-discovery route.
