If you have enough money, say 100 million, you are not only a specialist in penny stocks, you are the god of penny stocks. With enough money, you can basically decide what price the stocks trade at, you can even generate some momentum, sudden highs and lows, high volatility, etc.
And to make money, you are basically preying on the interesting group of people who believe in momentum investing.
On top of imposing a levy on entries to our casinos, the authorities should really consider removing the 'top 20 volume' in our stockmarket to discourage manipulation/speculation

Ipco, only the management knows exactly what is going on.
Looking at its financial statement, some simple analysis
1. Core revenue(on going business excludes financial gains etc) is 26.7M, expenses are 41.6M, as a business, it is bad, really really really bad.
2. Fair value gain of 68.4M. This is significant. Anyone can shed light? Have they discovered oil in some land they own or they made huge derivative bets against apple on 19th Sept 2012 when apple was $700. (apple now at 397). Or maybe they are allowed a telco license in North Korea?
3. Issued shares more than doubled.
4. EPS increased >8 fold despite the more than doubling of shares issued.
The way I see it, they either have hit the big time jackpot or they are much worse now than ever before. Your guess is as good as mine.
(Not vested in this in any way. I maybe wrong but if forced to take a position, will take the short side of it)

Their fair value gain are partly attributed to their 9.71% holdings in Blumont Group (also listed in SGX), which shot up tremendously recently. IPCO has shareholdings in some other SGX listed firms.

My stake is only around 100k but this stock is support by many big fish with huge stakesto support so short at your own risk, their payoff is definitely not the kacang puteh few cent gain as I mention before.
Revaluation of financial assets shows that they are themselves savvy investors or have strong connections all the more reason to buy.

IPCO is in the play again?
Quite a few years ago, I remembered that IPCO shares were offered by some major shareholders at $X. In return, these shareholders offered a put option to sell back them at $Y, with $Y > $X. Rumours like that enabled IPCO to catapult to almost $2.50 to $3.00.
It was fun while it lasts, as long as one doesn't end up holding the baby......
