This might help:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitasoy

Vitasoy as my childhood memory serve me was very popular in 80-90s in HK.
Further as your stats show, the gap between HK and CN is narrowing in 2014.. U might just see a reversal of relative size for FY2015
(also need to bear in mind that vitasoy probably sells cheaper in CN than HK).

Sorry for going slightly off topic.

I will be interested to see at what interest rate will the convertible bonds be at. This determines whether the narrative in which SinoG risk, and hence cost of debt, is lower.

Recently , i was wondering how would i feel if im Mr Mahagitsiri (Thailand's Coffee King), to have invested so much . What will be his sentiment and strategy towards the management of the bond and current development....

As Sino Grandness is part of TTA's most substantial investment, what are the factors going on in Prayudh & Charlemchai's mind....

(04-07-2015, 04:04 PM)crubs Wrote: Attached is the English translation of a portion of TTA' s AGM minutes. Here, a shareholder asked the management about TTA' s acquisition of Sino Grandness

Mr. Somboon Eurmareewong (A shareholder) : With regard to the Company's investment into Sino Grandness by spending the amount of THB 611 million, please provide a general overview of the business, market size, business rank within the same industry including financial figures such as assets, income, profits as well as channels of distribution of more than 250 locations previously presented. If compared to other competitors, please advise if this kind of business has distribution channels more or less than other competitors, including the product popularity.

Mr. Chia Wan Huat Joseph (Director) : For the question no. 3, Sino Grandness was incorporated in 1997 in China operating an export of canned vegetables to European market. Their current revenues were earned approximately at THB 10,000 million and last year they achieved THB 2,000 million profits. From year 2009, Sino has started producing and selling loquat drink or pee pae (枇 杷 果 ) a new ready-to- drink juice. China has now served their consumers in a new different drinking market apart from the present market of fruit drinks or herbal drinks. The new market is called functional drink (drinks that are healthy to your body). This new market has included sub-markets of the loquat fruit juice where Sino Grandness owns market share of the loquat juice for more than 80% and distribution channels of more than 250 locations covering the North to the South areas of China such as Shenzhen city thorugh Tesco, Carrfour and Seven Eleven. Moreover, Sino Grandness started its first export to the overseas market in Hong Kong. However, Sino Grandness still keeps its focus on the sale in China as a primary market and achieved profits from the loquat fruit drinks around THB 1,500 million in the previous year.

As mentioned, Sino Grandness could be used to the Company's good advantage especially in terms of the distribution channels throughout the country. If the Company wishes to export its products to China, market channels already exist. This includes the opportunity to improve products of Sino Grandness to be more universal. The Company anticipates growth potential of this business and in the coming years the Company will be able to work closely with Sino Grandness to develop products and mobilize more exports.

Mr. Prasert Bunsumpun (Chairman) : Added that Sino Grandness is a company with a great potential of growth. Given TTA&rsquo s vision to be a leading holding company in Asia that is open to diversity beyond the range of its core businesses, the investment in Sino Grandness was made on a low-cost-high-return basis which adds up value of the Company.

This shows that TTA plans to be very involved in Sino Grandness and that the purchase was not just a financial investment. As such, careful due dilligence must have been done to ascertain the compatibility between the two companies.

What TTA told its shareholders about the investment has been consistent with what Sino Grandness told us.

The county head of Guzhen (固镇), Anhui, led a delegation to visit Sino Grandness.

Sino Grandness is constructing new factory in Guzhen to produce beverage and canned food.

The factory in Guzhen is Sino's third beverage factory. The first in Sichuan, western China, the second in Hubei, central China.

Sino has also engaged four factories in eastern China, two in Fujian, one in Guandong, and one in Beijing to produce beverage.

Anhui is an eastern province and Guzhen is known for its agricultural produce.

Newman9 has earlier stated that the factory at Guzhen (as well as the factories in Hubei and Sichuan) is sham.

Vice Chairman of CDI Bank (Cb1 holder) Dr Chen Xin and AGV Boss, Mr Chen Zhefang, recently visited Sino. Strange for bondholder to help Sino build up business connections. Something cooking?

You can form your own conclusion whether Huang is having problems with the bondholders or not. Smile

Just to extend the bond redemption, do you know how much interest payment the company got to pay?

How many loquat drinks the company got to sell to cover the extra interest payments?

Unless the company is being set up for 'fun' else it should be profit maximising.

Why is the company not paying off?

I am amazed with people who continues to build castles in the air.

Ans : Please state which portion of the company or their development you found funny ?

Qn 4 : I am amazed with people who continues to build castles in the air.

Ans : im even more amaze with you , why ? does sharing articles and latest positive development from valid sources seems like building castle to you ? Seems more likely that , you are building an animal Circus in the Air , without showing your analysis and at least some shallowness..

Qn 4.1 : Why is the company not paying off?

Ans : Paying off in terms of Dividend , Profit , Business development or A1 ? Be specific

leeeta, how is it strange that bondholder would help Garden Fresh? If the company does well, bondholder would benefit too. Either he can get back the principal interest or the converted shares would become more valuable.

Behappyalways, I'm concerned about the interest payment too. Since they are doing well, shouldn't they be able to refinance the debt at a lower cost? However, paying off the debt can be an opportunity cost. They will have less capex to grow. Paying off the debt might mean less profits in the long term. It is important to increase production and grab market share. The question is whether this risk is worth taking.
