Which part of Thailand has the most Thais of ethnic Chinese? Which part is most hospitable to PRs? Bangkok?

A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return

Depends what you want. Retirement or investment.

A lot of ang moh retire in chiang mai where is cheaper and climate cooler lesser tourist. Chiang Mai have a lot of thai chinese decendants from china. Generally thailand don't have a history of persecuting minority unlike other countries they are a very tolerant society. Myanmmar have a lot of history with handling of their minorities even now karen groups.

Bangkok is good if you want amenities infrastructure. Party scene is in Pattaya or Phuket. Pattaya is more laid back caters more to older crowd 40-60 yo. Phuket is direct opposite more for more energetic younger crowd slightly more expensive than Pattaya.

I personally prefer Bangkok for infrastructure getting around easy cheap cost of living and very affordable high standard healthcare.

But if for investment wise I may choose party locations. It is always the attractions that will bring developments.

MAE HONG SON in Thailand.. Very nice, cheap and good for retirement..
Friends staying there every night can sit on their roof top with their love ones and dog, peeling oranges and mangos, looking at the stars and wait for the Sun to rise on the next day!

MAE HONG SON.
Is it rural? How about basic amenities? I remember during the "Vietnam War", Mae Hong Son was mentioned for some reasons. i can't remember now for what?

In Bangkok, Sukhumvit is the prefered location for foreign investor, cos it easy letable but price expensive hor...yield after less maint fee left aro 5%.

Well, my choice in Chiang Mai to be exact those any moh like NimmanHaemin area...anywhere in or near the city (square shape) should a good choice...foreigner only allow to buy condo...nett yield of 7%-8% easily achieveable.

For investment can also consider Ratchada area.

Ratchada is up and coming trendy hip place for young thai people it's also a happening place. There's lots of vibrant night life in that area but surprisingly most of the patrons that go there are local thais not tourists.

And also surrounding a controversy while thaksin was Prime Minister he bought 15 acres of prime land in that area. So following what the powerful and insiders are doing. Big Grin

actually, bkk properties now is abit overprice liao....Ratchada at Huai Khwang province abit far from the city centre. Last month I looked at Fuse Mobius..next to Ram Kham Haeng Airport-link station, 28 sq m studio at 20 storey, TOP on July'13 going at 1.8 million THB (nego)

Anyway, I not keen in bangkok project...bloody hot & conjested.....Hua Hin my 2nd choice.
