To be clear, what I did was 100% agreeing with the prior posts of fellow buddies (Behappyalways, and BlueKelah for saying he "hit the nail on the head").

But sure, moving forward I'd avoid remarks that would be interpreted as "tongue-in-cheek" if it's against the forum rules.

Jack Dorsey was criticized for been the CEO-founder of Twitter and Square. So would Musk been CEO-founder of Tesla and SpaceX, be ready to put his talent/time into Twitter? Or he would just be on the BOD giving strategic direction and check/balances?

As for putting shares as margin for loans, it is not out of the norm as many other owners do similar things. Under normal circumstances, the odds of getting called, are not high.

Musk seeks to put in less money in new Twitter deal financing: sources

Musk has also pledged some of his Tesla shares to banks to arrange a US$12.5 billion margin loan to help fund the deal. He may seek to trim the size of the margin loan based on the new investor interest in the deal financing, one of the sources said.

Investors have been fretting over whether Musk will complete the Twitter deal given that he has backtracked in the past. In April, he decided at the last minute not to take up a seat on Twitter’s board. In 2018, Musk tweeted that there was “funding secured” for a US$72 billion deal to take Tesla private but did not move ahead with an offer.

I'm happy to be proven wrong though. To steal Buffett's space exploration analogy, I applaud Tesla's (and other OEMs') endeavour to electrify automobiles, but I'd prefer to skip the ride.

So EV penetration of new car sales in China in 2021 was about 15%, similar to Norway's figure in 2016. Six years later in Norway, EV penetration of new car sales in Q1 2022 was 82%.

There are obviously a lot of differences between these two auto markets, but high EV penetration in China might come along faster than I expected. Most things considered, this is probably a secular trend that is not going away.

Global automakers face electric shock in China

Quote:..

"If I was buying a gasoline car, I may have considered foreign brands," the 29-year-old said as she drove home from work. "But I wanted an EV, and other than Tesla, I saw few foreign brands applying advanced smart technology properly."

..

The cleaner technologies accounted for 23% of China's passenger car market, where overall vehicle sales fell 12%, reflecting a steep decline in demand for gasoline cars. There are no foreign brands among the top 10 automakers in the new energy vehicle (NEV) segment this year, with the notable exception of U.S. electric pioneer Tesla in third place, according to China Passenger Car Association data.

finish finish BBQ liao.

I believe stock price will also BBQ soon and may go down another 50% at least as all the excess money gets squeezed out of the system and EV demand experiences a big drop. Europe EVs wont have electricity to recharge, US market will be in recession, Chinese market will be gone case. Premium car market will also be hit badly in a bad global recession. Unlike Apple that can survive in recession and make money, unlikely Tesla can continue to make money.

And further chip shortages etc is gonna hit all at once...
Virtual currencies are worth virtually nothing.
