They have always been goving out dividend every year since 2007

I think what you are trying to say is the extra dividend coming May 14 xd.

Eatlier this year Tan Kong Sin (i think he was the CEO) pledged his shares to a financial institution, and probable for loan purpose.

He held about 9% of the company.
Anyways its Tan family held major shareholdings about 80%

Hence the best guess i conclude is he is drawing cash to pay for something. Perhaps a loan of sorts. The rest of the shareholders gain from extra cash too.

The profit improvement in the 1H (ended 31Mar14) results is indeed impressive…..
http://infopub.sgx.com/FileOpen/FY2014Ha...eID=293773
Using the 1H's EPS of $0.009 as a basis, full-year FY14 (ending 30Sep14)'s EPS may well hit $0.018.

Based on the latest 31Mar14's NAV/share at $0.214 and net cash/share at $0.055, the last done share price at $0.102 points to an obvious under-priced situation. Quite clearly, the surprise $0.005/share Interim dividend has become a positive catalyst for Mr Market to do his usual tricks to re-rate this counter.

No debt, cash of $18.5M ~ 5.5c/share, so potentially another 0.5c for final dividend (total of 10% yield)?

P/B under 0.5 - undervalued & illiquid micro cap.

Bought in at 8.8 cents, not much action until recent announcement of div. Big Grin who wanna join in? Big Grin

I vested at 8.6 cents and I always wanted to accumulate more. Anyone knows why they suddenly give dividends?

(Edited the price)

nothing sudden about it, just that they had a good profitable first half with 0.9cent EPS so they decided to pay out half 0.5 cents. Company is also net cash and very very undervalued with regards to NTA.

Seems like its the good times for them and us shareholders ! Big Grin

hi,

Here are some interesting research info I have found on the net.

a corporate video on PNE Industries. It's very informative and good overview of the company. Definitely worth to watch it.

Then I found a blogger who wrote about PNE 1 year ago and his assessment 1 year later.

simple valuation, for me its the CASH hoard and no imminent big capex, together with the 50cents to a dollar valuation, this stock will be a winner some day.

Net Cash per share is 5.53 cents
NAV is 21.43 cents
Since it has no goodwill or intangible asset, NAV = NTA
==> NTA is 21.43 cents.

Net current asset is $58.109m, which is around 17.31 cents per share.

I think it is still undervalued but I am not sure if I shd accumulate more at the current price. Or I should wait till the price drops to lower level (maybe due to one-off lousy earnings). Not used to averaging up for stocks. Anyone facing the same question?

just buy in after ex-div or any big dips. Still severely undervalued, this sort of production stock will easily reach par value to NTA once people take notice and start pushing... Cash level is almost at juicy level. I am more concerned about any future large capex rather than the earnings which i am sure will be pretty stable given experienced management.

l have vested few hundred lots into this counter liao and will be buying more as it goes up. Averaging up is always ok if the fundamentals are still undervalued. Not ok if the price has reached fair value.

After all if you are like me aiming to hold until 20cents then its very cheap even at current 11cents. Maybe you can consider wait a couple weeks for the trading price and volume to stabilise to go in again. Let me know when, I will pick up some with you, this dividend season has been good 4 me Big Grin

This stock is SAFE AND CHEAP Big Grin
